Melissa - August 1999
A very hot and humid town located right on the Tropic of Capricorn. Stopped off here on the long drive to Townsville. Friendly people and a great town.

Disgusting smelly town that I really didn\'t like at all. Mall smelt like pee. I didn\'t feel safe at all. It was dirty. Keep driving up to Mackay or Sarina or south to Maryborough!

Rockhampton is the beef capital of Australia. Here there are plenty of stockyards, statues of cattle and the occassional rodeo.

It\'s one of the gateways to the surrounding islands i.e. Great Keppel Island. Get there, then get to one of the islands!
