Hamilton Island
Over 80 per cent of Hamilton Island has been carefully preserved in its natural state so that visitors can continue to enjoy the pristine beauty of the island's fabulous beaches, unspoilt nature trails and secluded hideaways.
As the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays, Hamilton Island is the only island with an airport catering for direct commercial and charter flights. It is serviced by at least 48 flights a week by Qantas Airways, including direct flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns with convenient connections to domestic and international ports.
Hamilton Island has its own medical centre and pharmacy.
The village has everything you need, from general store to restaurants, bakery, hairdresser, beautician, yacht club happy hours, boat hire, fishing trips, diving trips to the Great Barrier Reef.
You may use the hotel facilities and the water sports, kids Clownfish Club for 5-14 year olds, and a Junior childminding Centre for ages 6 weeks to 4 years, sports club (gym, tennis courts, fitness classes) and the many varied fun activities on offer.
Or you can relax around the other resort pools and enjoy a few cocktails.
There is also a water driving range, shooting range, and mini golf.
Enjoy wonderful bush walking to deserted beaches, where you may glimpse a turtle, to the mangrove flats or up to Passage Peak for a breathtaking view of Hamilton Island and the Whitsundays. Well worth the effort and very rewarding!
