Their mixed farming property of 88 acres, studded with old gums, comprises 30 acres under vine (Riesling, Shiraz, Pinot & Cabernet); 15 acres native eucalypt plantation; 1 acre Muntree shrubs; & the remainder grazing.
Guests are free to roam the property at their leisure - with a map in the cottage to assist!
Edenmae's Two Room (ONE BEDROOM) Rustic Cottage comfortably accommodates a family of 5 & is fully self-catered for up to 8 (with 500 litre refrigerator, 700 wide stove & every other convenience required of a busy kitchen). There is a well equipped private verandah outback, overlooking the house dam.
While the cottage kitchen is very well equipped (including a BBQ out back), folks often prefer to eat out. Seven minutes in either direction will find three great pubs for meals, two general stores, a butcher & a baker.
They have several small cellar doors within arms reach (4 to 7 minutes): Edenmae Estate on the main street of Springton; Peter Seppelt Grand Cru are on the main road to Springton. Suffield Wines is a mere 1km west of Springton town & Partalunga's cellar door is at the end of their Burns Road.
Within 20 minutes you will find multiple places of interest: the Barossa Valley; Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park; the Whispering Wall; the Big Rocking Horse; the National Motor Museum; the Barossa Cheese Factory; and the Herbig Tree.
Within 30 minutes you could find yourself sitting on the grassy banks of the Murray River in Mannum. Or in the opposite direction, on the lake of Maggie Beer's Farm Shop, in between a few stops at some of the best wineries Australia has to offer!
"The Barossa" is divided into two valleys... The warm climate Barossa Valley & the cool climate Eden Valley. Eden Valley is then gifted with it's sub region High Eden.
With Edenmae Estate sitting atop the southernmost crest of the Eden Valley, it is very fortunate to be located exactly half way between the Barossa Valley & the Adelaide Hills - making it a short 20 minute drive to either destination - and a one hour drive to Adelaide's CBD.
The Estate sits at 455m above sea level, making it quite elevated for South Australia. Hence their winters are rather chilly & summer evenings bring relief from hot dry days.
They are typically considered Mediterranean with Summer temperatures varying between 10°c to 45°c & Winter temperatures from -2°c to 25°c. So it's a good idea to pack jumpers/pullovers irrespective of the season!
Eden Valley is renowned for it's zesty Rieslings & with the Barossa's Shiraz just North & the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon just South - what more could you want??

Perfect for a weekend away
We arrived and were greeted by three adorable Border Collies so I was won over instantly! The cottage is well equipped, cosy and rustic. The heater was already on for us and a bottle of their own Shiraz on the table. We spent two nights here and I wish it was longer! The property is stunning - we saw the llamas and chickens and walked around to the vineyards. Even though it is in the same vicinity as the homestead, the cottage was private and quiet. Such a beautiful experience.

Couldn't have hoped for a better stay
Edenmae is a lovely farm and a great location for a weekend away. The cabin is quiet, warm and just what we needed for a long weekend away.
Close to mt pleasant market which I highly recommend visiting on a Saturday morning.
If you love animals then this place is for you. One of the kelpies had two week old puppies while we were there :)
Michelle is a very warm helpful host who is known by many of the locals as such you will have a very welcoming stay throughout the Barosa if you mention where you are staying.
Thank you for an awesome weekend!

Adelaide Hills/Eden Valley Hideaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights. The property is great to explore on foot. Peace & quiet. The cottage sits quite close to the main house but this is no issue. Must do some wine tasting at the Edenmae Cellar Door in Springton - wines are quality. The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is excellent, (Saturday morning). Walker Flat is only a half hr drive so we enjoyed another change of scenery there, (nice drive). Aside from the vineyards and nice view of Eden Valley itself there are large moss rocks which make for good photograph opportunities.
