Historic MintaroThe township of Mintaro is a State classified heritage area and the home of the Mintaro slate quarries. Follow the walking trail around the town to see how slate has been used in homes and public spaces. Visit *Marindale Hall the Georgian mansion featured in the film Picnic at Hanging Rock *Mintaro maze a living maze and gift shop * Luis antique shop *Mintaro Cellars to taste Peter's award winning wines *Reillys winery and restaurant for fine wines, delicious lunches and dinners and buy a gift for yourself or a bottle of local produce *Mintaro Cottage garden a wonderful example of dry lands gardening * Walk or cycle the 26km Riesling trail * Have a drink and a chat at the Magpie and Stump hotel *You can step out of Mintaro to visit 30 other quality wineries of the Clare Valley and for a range of dining experiences * Please come and stay in Mintaro for a few nights in one of the heritage listed or early settlers cottages to appreciate the peaceful beautiful Clare Valley |
