More than we expected
This property is amazing. Surprisingly it was even bigger in real life than the photos made it look. There was just two adults and two little ones so we only really used the back half of the place which was more than enough space for two active children. It was spotless on arrival (and cool which was great as it was a very hot day) and you can tell it a very well looked after place.
All the fittings were of a high standard and everything was well stocked. There are not many consumables, there was some toilet roll and soap and bits for washing up but nothing else, no coffee or sauces or anything. That's not a criticism at all, just a pointer for people staying to take any bits they think they might need. There was every kind of kitchen implement you might ever need, a big tv/dvd for lazy afternoons after a beachy morning and plenty of books and dvds to check out.
The area is quiet and it's an easy walk over the cockle train tracks to a beautiful beach. Not a paddling beach as the waves are huge but it has fantastic sand for digging and you can watch the surfers. Horseshoe Bay is only a short drive anyway and that's perfect for little ones.
Port Elliot itself has a nice range of shops and takeaways for those lazy holiday nights and it's only a 20 minute walk (with a toddler so probably less with just adults) from the house.
I would highly recommend this house (and it's lovely owner Leonie!) for anyone who wants a home away from home. That's exactly what we got :-)

Beautiful Place to Holiday
Beautiful, comfortable home to stay. Kids loved playing table tennis, while the adults relaxed in the hammock. Short distance to all the attractions we wanted to see. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Relax on Barton for our xmas holiday for ten days. I could not speak more highly of the hosts - Leonie and Mark and for the property. This is a great property for a family to enjoy both the indoors and the outdoors. The beach is a lovely one block walk away to be able to enjoy the walking/bike path and the sunsets.
