The apartment

As you walk through the red door you are immediately drawn to the bedrooms with their luxurious linen and Tasmanian made Waverley woollen throws. Spectacular river views can be seen from the main bedroom and to your left the single bedroom has a desk for a quiet moment of study, reading or relaxing.

Go down the spiral stairs to the light and airy living area featuring lounge, dining ta-ble and chairs, TV/DVD and stereo. Step on to the deck with its outdoor furniture and take in the views beyond of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington.

Off the lounge is a well appointed kitchen, with espresso machine, microwave and full size fridge and oven. The bathroom with its shower and toilet features front load-ing washing machine and dryer.

The decor is contemporary with details of Tasmanian art, craft and design. Heating in all rooms makes this a cosy place in winter. The deck allows for al fresco dining in summer as you watch the ever-changing activity on the river.

The location

Take advantage of the apartment's fantastic location and close proximity to Hobart's vibrant waterfront district and Salamanca Place. Take a 5 minute walk to the world renowned Salamanca Market (Saturdays) or an easy stroll to the shopping districts of the city, waterfront or Sandy Bay via Billy Goat Lane.

Explore historic Battery Point on foot to discover convict buildings, colonial architecture both modest and grand, parks and gardens, Arthur Circus

The experience

Ex restaurateurs, your hosts can provide you with expert local knowledge, from sourcing wonderful Tasmanian produce to cook in the apartment to recommendations on a variety of dining experiences all within a ten minute walk of your apartment.

Cruise the river Derwent and the D'Entreacasteaux Channel to Peppermint Bay, take a tour of the Cascade Brewery, hop on the big red bus, take a thrilling ride on a jet boat or just relax in your apartment with a glass of Tasmanian wine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great location Great property. The location to the waterfront was fantastic. Everything included for self catering. And a view to impress. The bed was comfortable. Parking was easy which can be a little tricky in the area. We didn't really need the car though as we walked everywhere. Our hosts were helpful and the booking and communication process efficient. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Apartment. Amazing views. We had a fantastic 5 day stay at Red Door Apartment. The property is located a short walk to Salamanca or Sandy Bay. A great base to go exploring. Fantastic attention to detail and beautifully furnished. We didn't use the kitchen but could see that it was very well equipped if you did choose to cook. Beds were very comfortable and the view from the main bedroom is breathtaking. A fantastic place to stay for couples or a small family like ours. I would highly recommend Red Door Apartment.
