The apartment

As you walk through the red door you are immediately drawn to the bedrooms with their luxurious linen and Tasmanian made Waverley woollen throws. Spectacular river views can be seen from the main bedroom and to your left the single bedroom has a desk for a quiet moment of study, reading or relaxing.

Go down the spiral stairs to the light and airy living area featuring lounge, dining ta-ble and chairs, TV/DVD and stereo. Step on to the deck with its outdoor furniture and take in the views beyond of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington.

Off the lounge is a well appointed kitchen, with espresso machine, microwave and full size fridge and oven. The bathroom with its shower and toilet features front load-ing washing machine and dryer.

The decor is contemporary with details of Tasmanian art, craft and design. Heating in all rooms makes this a cosy place in winter. The deck allows for al fresco dining in summer as you watch the ever-changing activity on the river.

The location

Take advantage of the apartment's fantastic location and close proximity to Hobart's vibrant waterfront district and Salamanca Place. Take a 5 minute walk to the world renowned Salamanca Market (Saturdays) or an easy stroll to the shopping districts of the city, waterfront or Sandy Bay via Billy Goat Lane.

Explore historic Battery Point on foot to discover convict buildings, colonial architecture both modest and grand, parks and gardens, Arthur Circus

Ex restaurateurs, your hosts can provide you with expert local knowledge, from sourcing wonderful Tasmanian produce to cook in the apartment to recommendations on a variety of dining experiences all within a ten minute walk of your apartment.

Cruise the river Derwent and the D'Entreacasteaux Channel to Peppermint Bay, take a tour of the Cascade Brewery, hop on the big red bus, take a thrilling ride on a jet boat or just relax in your apartment with a glass of Tasmanian wine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spacious for three of us Very hard to find 2 bedroom accommodation. Our family of three (incl. 14 year old son) were accommodated very comfortably at Red Door. Hospitable staff. Good restaurants close by. Battery Point, Salamanca Market, Hobart central and wharves all within walking distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful property in fabulous location! I booked this apartment for my parents to stay for a week during my wedding. It was in a cute cul de sac street in a easy to get to location in Battery Point. They weren't too confident driving in a big city but were happy to drive down to the shops on Sandy Bay Rd or to walk to Salamanca, all within an easy access range. The apartment was exactly as described and in the photos, very clean & modern. It has a lovely view to the water and a rear balcony and leafy terraced garden. Thank you to Kathryn & Robin for helping my dad with his tie while mum was at the hairdressers, he was so impressed :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A room with a view We had the perfect luxury getaway in the lovely Red Door Apartment in February for a joint birthday celebration. With views across beautifully-kept back gardens of Battery Point across to the bay, we'd start the day sipping coffee on the deck and end it with a nightcap on the balcony. Robin and Kathryn have designed the space for up to three people to have a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
