Opossum Bay
Opossum Bay is located on the Derwent River 40 minutes drive from Hobart on the eastern shore. Opossum Bay is classified as a village. Opossum Bay has a general store, a new jetty for fishing and catching a variety of fish which includes calamari, there are also picturesque walks out to the headland and beyond with a variety of beachs surrounding the headland. The local community is very friendly and welcomes visitors to the bay. The main beach is clean, safe, and sheltered from the weather. The houses located on the beach add character to this wonderful place, which also has an abundance of birdlife and wildlife. Come and See. |

Sandy Bay
Sandy Bay is a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is immediately south of the CBD.
The area is generally known as one of the city's more prestigious suburbs, with many large and extravagant homes and apartment blocks. It adjoins the waterfront Salamanca area as well as nearby prestige suburb of Battery Point. However, it is also the site of the Hobart campus of the University of Tasmania and The Hutchins School, and as a result has a large student population.
Sandy Bay is accessible via Sandy Bay Road, which runs from Davey Street in the city all the way to the Kingborough municipal boundary at Taroona when it becomes the Channel Highway. Before the construction of the Southern Outlet, the road was the primary route to and from Kingston. It is also accessible via Regent Street, which bypasses the shopping district and goes direct to the University. |

Tahune Airwalk
Approximately 1 hr drive from Woodbridge (Peppermint Bay) is the Tahune Airwalk. The airwalk is one of only a few fixed structure canopy walkways internationally and provides a bids eye view of the southern forests, the local mountain range and the Tasmanian World Heritage Area. |

West Hobart
West Hobart climbs one of the many hills overlooking central Hobart and the Derwent. It is full of character houses from the 1840s to the 1940s and together with its tree lined streets has become one of Tasmania's most popular residential areas. The Central Hobart and North Hobart shops are a short walk. The West Hobart shops feature a great Italian restaurant (so popular you have to book), a supermarket which include fresh vegetables and Post Office and a video shop.
Central Hobart is a 15 minute walk downhill with another 5 minutes to Salamanca Place. There are buses and taxis if you don't feel like walking back up.
The bush walk from West Hobart to the Knocklofty Reserve has spectacular views of Mount Wellington and the Derwent and is dog friendly.
