This is the ultimate beach house, walking distance to the beach, close to golf courses, cafe's and wineries.
One of our guests said, "We had a fantastic 'Winter Escape' weekend at the Dunes. There was plenty of room for a large group of us, including 2 babies and a dog, and we had a ball. The open living/kitchen/dining space is perfect, and the log fire a real drawcard. We hope to be back soon! Thank you."
Another said ''We had an amazing time at The Dunes. The location is beautiful, the house is spacious and fantastically well appointed. We catered for large numbers and were able to do so with ease and comfort. Plus there are games, activities, seating, and decking galore. I would definitely recommend it!
The Dunes is a very spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated 2 storey modern beach house with all mod cons nestled amongst the tea trees but enjoying sun all day. Treeline views and only a short drive from Blairgowrie and Sorrento. Walking distance to fabulous back beaches and to die for views from the sand dunes.
Sleeps up to 18 in comfort so absolutely brilliant for that landmark celebration or for a wonderful family get to gether.
It is also often used for executive retreats and corporate team building. There are 2 huge separate lounge areas, 2 dining areas, 4 outdoor deck areas and 3 bathrooms. There is a huge and inviting open fireplace, with plenty of wood provided. Perfect for snuggling up next to with a bottle of red or a good book.
There is ample off street parking and even room for a boat.
Just pack your bags and arrive!
We've thought of everything. There is Foxtel upstairs and downstairs plus there are books galore, toys, cds, games, massive bean bags, huge stuffed toys and DVD's for the kids. The upstairs rumpus room is enormous and great for groups of people wanting to chill out and getaway from it all or for the kids to run around in.
They will never want to leave, there is also a table tennis table and Foosball table.
There is milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and sugar provided plus all the little things that make a difference like toiletries, oil, vinegar plus kitchen necessities like glad wrap, tea towels and mosquito spray in the welcome basket.
The supermarket in Blairgowrie is very well stocked with loads of fantastic deli items and the closest convenience store is 1k away.
You can walk to the back beach from the house in less than 10 minutes, through the National park. It's a great surf beach and at low tide the rockpools provide endless hours of entertainment for the kids - they are even big enough to jump in. This local beach even has a huge sand dune to climb up and run down. The views from the top are nothing short of spectacular

The Dunes was a fantastic property for our retreat. We were a large group and had plenty of space in the 2 separate living areas - both with foxtel !!
Kitchen was really good, well equipped and perfect for catering to all of our team. Outside area was great for nightly barbecue and relaxing during the day. The house was in a great location not too far from the Blairgowrie or Sorrento shops and only a 5 minute walk to the back beach.
Thank you Nikki for all of your help. We will definitely be back!

Big, but disappointing.
We hired the house for our parents 50th anniversary on the 13/14 March and while the house is large and has charm we were disappointed with the following:
- On arrival we did a clean-up of rubbish outside including a broken bottle on the lawn.
- The inbuilt DVD player in the upstairs TV did not work. We tried everything (one parent is a tech) but ended up transferring the downstairs TV upstairs to satisfy 7 children. There was a separate DVD and video but no leads to plug them in!
- The kitchen was poorly equipped. No matches, teapot/plunger and the coffee machine was filthy…incl. insects floating inside.
- The fridge was not functioning properly, and would not keep things cold. We ended up using ice/eskies.
- The inside of the house wasn’t well cleaned, with rubbish under beds etc.
- There was no information on where to find things in the house, and not a scrap of information about Blairgowrie or its surrounds.
What we found really frustrating is that several of these things had been listed in previous reviews, but still had not been rectified, even after we had contacted the owners prior to arrival to voice our concerns. Not good enough given the per night rental cost of the property.

Great property, but a few disappointments
This house was a perfect size for my Hens Weekend. We had a big group of ladies so the space was great in that sense - we weren't on top of each other but we were still able to play games and all be in the same space.
The beds were comfortable and the AC was a lifesaver as we were there on the hottest weekend in Feb.
There were a couple of issues throughout the weekend however. First, the fridge wasn't working properly (the freezer was though???) and some of our food went off over night which was a big issue.
When we arrived, we noticed A LOT of spider webs everywhere. These were clearly not new ones either - they had been there for quite a while and not in places that are hard to get to. While we understand that it is essentially in the country, given that it had been cleaned just a day earlier, it was clear that things were missed.
Overall, I would recommend the house as a great weekender, assuming the fridge is fixed!

Huge property, nice location
We stayed for 2 nights over the summer break - 3 mums and 6 kids. The booking process was smooth and helpful. We loved the layout of the house, there were ample bedrooms for everyone, and the 2 dining areas were great- we could put the kids in one area and us in another. The outside deck was amazing, and the backyard was great for the kids to roam around in. The location was also good, we could walk to the back beach, it took about 30 minutes. The king bed in one of the bedrooms separated into 2 single beds which was handy. There were 2 entertaining/ tv/ rumpus areas which were good- again kids in one area parents in another. Unfortunately the DVD player didn't work when we were there but the kids were happy to watch a movie on Foxtel anyway.
We were a bit disappointed in the condition of the house, there were a few issues with cleanliness and maintenance, which I have been informed have been fixed since our stay. One strange thing- the lamps beside the beds either didn't reach the electrical socket or didn't have light bulbs supplied. Again its not a big deal, just a bit odd and meant the lamps did not function apart from as a display.
Overall we had a good stay, we did have some issues with cleanliness of the property and some basic issues such as the dishwasher leaking, locks not working in one of the bathrooms and the dvd player not working.
