Things to do

Cape Schanck's stunning coastline provides attractions for all types of visitors, whether you choose to visit one of the 62 wineries in the area, play a game of cliff-top golf (10 mins walk), take a walk along the boardwalk or up to the lighthouse with spectacular coastline views, or snorkel amongst the wonderful marine life in the rock pools.

Drive along our coastlines and cruise our quiet country roads, and the Peninsula's love affair with wine, fresh produce and bountiful food on the table quickly becomes obvious.

The Peninsula's landscapes are reminiscent of the Mediterranean too, with silvery olive groves, rolling hills laced with vineyards, waterfront cafes and restaurants, roadside signs for strawberries or free range eggs and lively local markets where growers bring just-picked and just-made produce.

Our gentle maritime climate puts a very individual stamp on Mornington Peninsula wines, as do the micro-climates which result in quite different wine styles from the same grapes grown at neighbouring vineyards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great House & Location We spent a week here over the summer holidays as a family of 4 (2 & 4 y.o) and loved our stay - the house was amazing, I loved the wrap around windows which gave the feeling of being surrounded by nature while being indoors. We all loved the backyard, and BBQ/outdoor setting for many meals outdoors. The house was great and had everything you could need (minor note to BYO plunger/caffettiera if you prefer to pods). The location was great, we have been to Mornington Peninsular many times but this time we loved staying away from the front bay beaches and felt we got the best of a bush & beach holiday. We appreciated the folder of useful local information - we visited markets, beaches & wineries and some days chose to not leave the house at all! We can't wait to come back & would highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great retreat with a difference This was the ideal property for our young family's midwinter escape. Love the main hub of kitchen and living areas – light and bright in the day, then comfortable by a cosy fire in the evening. Interesting architecture to stay in and enjoy or an easy drive to the hot springs and wineries. The children had a fun play on the beach at Flinders as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Red moon over Cape Schanck This is our second time at the Cape Schanck house and we really enjoy staying here. If you like design or are a design professional, it's a great place to stay to see so many ideas at play. It's a great place to share between two families which makes it fantastic value, and it's location makes most parts of the peninsula just a quick trip away. It has all the amenities you could want too - a great backyard for kids, the beds are comfortable, and there's a washer and drier as well. However note there is no microwave nor a coffee making alternative to a capsule machine, so BYO Caffeettiera. Aside from that, we highly recommend staying here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My family and I had a wonderful time at Cape Schanck House. The property is very unique with a relaxed cozy feel. We really just enjoyed the house and its facilities. The outdoor area is great for kids, my kids were amused for hours playing in the tree house and the garden. With great beaches for the kids and wineries for mum and dad just a short drive away you can't go wrong here if you are looking for a relaxing break.
