A gorgeous historic township with so much to do.
Walks to the lighthouse, fabulous beaches, viewing the mutton birds, great cafes, fine restaurants, boutique shopping, antiques, galleries, markets, with Tower Hill (extinct volcano with fauna and bushwalks) and Warnabool (maritime museum) a stones throw away.
A fabulous holiday for the whole family, we just keep going back.

Victoria Apartments, Bank Street, Port Fairy, Stayed for 4 nights. Very friendly email communication and in person. New apartments (we stayed in 2 bedroom) however no apartments have bath which was dissappointing considering we had little children (we were told kids could use the cottage which had a bath once people departed however we were never advised). Don't really cater for families with young children as such - 2 story apartment risk of children falling down stairs, although child stair rail was provided but kids soon knocked that over and removed the paint from wall. Lounge also right against the top of the wall which kids can climb up lounge and easily fall down into staircase which is approx. 4 metre drop. Kitchen excellent and very large but probably should have made smaller to allow extra space for bath in bathroom. Small basin in bathroom however double size shower. Beds very comfortable however noted they don't change the doona covers and all pillow cases upon checkout. Laundry amenities excellent. Very central location. Probably a little pricy - paid $208 p.n compared to comparable apartments. Overall, pretty pleased with stay.

Port Fairy is a nice place to visit after you take the drive down the Great Ocean Road. It was quite cold down here in the Winter time. Quite a few little motels and caravan parks to stay at. Great locals and great takeaway shops.

Griffith Island mutton bird rookeries, the large fishing fleet port, the old stone cottages and the Folk Festival make for a memorable stay in this charming old world fishing village.

Port Fairy is usually beyond the end of the Great Ocean Road so if you\'re exhausted from driving and don\'t feel you\'re not up to making it back to Melbourne, Port Fairy is a nice play to stay overnight.

One of Victoria\'s oldest ports, it\'s as pretty as a postcard. Wander it\'s historic streets and around the harbour on the Moyne River.

Port Fairy is a quaint seaside town in western Victoria. It is probably most well known for its annual Folk festival. I love the Port Fairy Folk Festival. Take the weekend off, listen to great music, blues, folk and enjoy the atmosphere. The festival happens in March of each year.

Everytime we are in Western Victoria, Port Fairy is a must stop. The town is beautiful and the food excellent. the surrounding countryside is pretty, especially on the coast.

we go there religously every year to see the mutton birds. It is a must see experience. The birds fly from antarctica all the way to nest and have babies every year and the whole island is swormed with them. Fishing is also a must when in port fairy. We caught lots of flat head but all too little and had to throw them back in.
