Daylesford Town and Country, owners and managers of Central Springs Cottage, invite you to stay at their very cosy renovated miner's cottage. Situated in the heart of Daylesford and only a 5 minute walk from the vast array of restaurants, cafes, galleries, shops, market & day spas of the main street. Take a short stroll round the corner to the lake or simply sit back and enjoy the leafy view from the comfort of the deck.
We also own and manage The Hide @ Mt Franklin listed on Stayz. It is dog friendly, set on a beautiful 44 acre property at the foothills of Mt Franklin, just 10 minutes drive from Daylesford.
Central Springs Cottage is perfect if you are attending a wedding as it is within walking distance of the most popular wedding venues.
The cottage is self contained with 2 QS bedrooms and a double sofa bed is available in the living room. There is a fully equipped kitchen, gas central heating, warm and toasty wood fire burner, spacious bathroom with a large walk in shower and leafy fully fenced back garden.
For those who like walking or bike riding, the Goldfields Track goes in both directions from the lake. So walk towards Ballarat or Bendigo - take your pick or do both! You could even arrange to stay at both of our cottages if you are planning to walk or ride the track as The Hide @ Mt Franklin is on the Dry Diggings section of the track.
There are other lovely walks virtually from your doorstep too. We have maps of some of the walks and the Info Centre, just up the road, has many more.
Our favourite masseurs are within walking distance and you don't need to get into a car after having indulged in some of the local wines in nearby cafés and bars.
If you stay the weekend, look out for The Age - we have it delivered on Saturdays for our guests.
PLEASE NOTE: There are a three steps (and a hand rail) from the bedroom landing to the living area and one step from the living area to the kitchen. There are also a couple of steps from the garden/parking area on to the balcony. The more direct route from the back door to the back yard has 6 or so steps from the verandah with a hand rail but you can also get to the back yard via the two steps to the garden/parking area. If you have a disability or concerns about the steps please feel free to contact us.
Your dogs can enjoy the cottage too.
We love going on holiday with our dogs so understand how important it is to have a nice place to take your pets. When enquiring about pet friendly make sure the accommodation is really pet friendly. Is the property well fenced? Are dogs allowed inside?
Our garden is fully fenced and is a lovely place to bring your dogs. The lake is just around the corner and there a lots of fabulous walks from the front gate. We allow well behaved dogs only and they are welcome inside. Note that we are fastidious about keeping the cottage clean for guests who don't bring their pets.
We care about our guests' pets and our neighbours so experience has led us to have a policy of not permitting dogs or pets to be left unattended inside or outside the cottage at any time. Please visit our website centralspringscottage and FAQ to view our pet friendly conditions as it is a condition of booking that you agree to these conditions.
Many people like to enjoy the wonderful massages offered in the area. As we do not allow dogs to be left unattended at the cottage we recommend an in-house massage offered by a number of great local masseurs or booking massages separately if you are coming as a couple or group of people. There is even a masseur willing to allow your dog to come to her studio. In warmer months it is not advisable to leave your dog(s) in the car whilst having a massage or dining out.
Don't take our word for it - see what our guests say.
A lovely relaxing weekend in this charming, well appointed cottage, well located in Daylesford. We were comfortable and warm and felt able to relax with the generous garden around whilst still being able to walk into the town centre. Thank you!
