The homestead was built as a guest house in circa 1853. A period colonial house of 3 bedrooms, the two larger bedrooms have open fires. Each named as the Tuscan and Provincial rooms, (deluxe rooms.)
There are robes supplied for guests to wear to the 2 period bathrooms in the hall, which have original claw-foot baths, shower and toilet. Suitable for small group bookings, couples twin share and singles. There is a TV/DVD in all rooms and TV/DVD in the lounge where there is an open fire. There are a range of tea and coffee`s to choose from in the conservatory. Hydronic heating through-out and a view over a 100 metre lawn and garden. Very few accommodation properties will compare with the manor's comforts and its flexibility in use.
Included are eight very individual bedrooms with ensuites all surrounding a large open lounge with a grand double sided chimney with 2 wood fires. The sun shines in all directions throughout the day in this lounge.
The furnishings in the manor are of eclectic decor, which creates a homely atmosphere.
The manor has two premier rooms and each suite 2 to 4 persons. Also there are 4 deluxe rooms either used as doubles or twin share. Then there are two small standard rooms, one has twin beds and the other has a double bed.
All bedrooms are quality and have; ensuites, TV/DVD's, tea and coffee facilities and central heating.
The manor is not only is use for groups, it also provides uses like hotel/motel like bedrooms for an overnight stay for, individuals, couples or twin share.
The large acreage of this property has maintained to keep its rural feel. Paddocks contain sheep or horses or cattle at times.
A private road leads of the Midland Highway, provides access to the property for off-street car parking for our guests.
Compared with most property owner managers without this parking facility, each have no alternative but to ask guests to park in the street, thus leaving the vehicle venerable and is a hassle for vehicle owners to get access.
To find the Station House Daylesford
It is only 80 minutes to travel from Melbourne's Westgate to Daylesford. Take either route such as via the Calder freeway toward Woodend or via the Western freeway towards Ballarat. Off the Western Freeway take the Ballan/Daylesford exit. From Geelong it is about 75 minutes going via Ballan. From Bendigo central it is about 60 minutes via Castlemaine along the Midland Highway. A Sunday market place and tourist railway is just across the road from the Station House Daylesford, and is a good land mark. (Google will give distance and est. time.
