Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect country escape With limited time for a getaway we were yearning for a break from the City and found peace and comfort just outside of Daylesford at DiStefanos. It was a humble, yet spacious and personally decorated property with room and amenities to suit our two families. The bedrooms were large with lovely quality doonas and pillows. For the 8 of us there was always a corner of the house or land to escape to, out on the deck, by the dam, or in one of the three separate living areas. Our kids enjoyed bushwalks and cricket in the backyard. The kitchen was modern and well-placed within the house. This was the escape to the country we all needed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing stay Our stay ended leaving a lot to be desired due to a lack of cleanliness and maintenance. On our arrival rubbish from previous guests was strewn in front of the house and the bin overflowing. The house smelt strongly of cooking fat which was primarily coming from the dishwasher. The dishwasher appeared blocked and would not function. The rest of the kitchen had not been cleaned properly in some time and the oven was unusable. The fridge only had one shelf left and this was also broken. Despite the owner advising she would attend to the rubbish and dishwasher, nothing was done and I was then unable to make any further contact by phone or text. The rest of the house is also in need of a professional clean to bring it to an acceptable standard as it currently wouldn't pass for a backpackers. The photos of the house are obviously quite old as the paint is now peeling and the deck has deteriorated with a number of raised nails protruding from the boards causing a hazard for bare feet. The paths were also overgrown with blackberry bushes and we had to cut these back ourselves to avoid anyone getting spiked. In the property's current condition we would not recommend this accommodation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful, spacious property. Set facing north, it's warm all day, even when we visited in the depths of a spa country winter. A good kitchen well equiped, it's located in Eganstown, mercifully just outside what can be a busy town, its extensive grounds, including your own lake, are, in themselves, an example example of the wonderful spa country landscape. The views from most of the rooms the property are superb. Over the last 10 years we've stayed in many properties in the region and found none to equal this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a cozy, spacious and well appointed home ideal for large families or a group of couples. Modern kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, plenty of entertaining space, separate areas for the kids or just to relax with a good book and a huge outdoor deck with BBQ. Everything you need. Dianne was a pleasure to deal with making our stay in Daylesford an absolute pleasure. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to stay for a weekend or an extended holiday. Two thumbs up!
