We appreciated the size and seclusion of the property and the early access you granted us. On arrival, we first noticed the unkempt surrounds, with weeds in the guttering and overgrown lawns. On entering the building, the immediate impression was the strong smell of ash from the fireplaces, that were not emptied. We were puzzled that the wood heater in the main area was missing a glass door. We emptied the fireplaces and found it necessary to purchase scented candles and oil burners to overcome the strong odour from the accumulated ash. We found the general condition of the building to be below the standard we expected from the photos on the internet. The kitchen bench was gritty, the floors throughout dusty and dirty with dead insects, the windows unwashed and the sheers dirty, the Roman blinds did not lower and raise properly. The sheers on the two four poster beds needed to be washed. We found no instructions for the wall heater, CD or DVD player. Your advertising information included the offer of "bathrobes and slippers". We located two pairs of slippers, but certainly not a single bathrobe. The "wine and chocolates" on arrival in reality was a bowl of Christmas coins, with no wine! We erroneously expected the "guest laundry" advertised would include a washing machine, but no washer or dryer were provided. The curtains in the gazebo were also very dirty and the outdoor furniture dusty, covered in cobwebs and falling apart - not the picturesque vision we saw on the internet. Little details that were disappointing were issues like beds made with pillow slips missing and one made with a fitted sheet missing, made up with only a top sheet as the bottom sheet. Two of us were forced to share a room as the third bedroom , used as a storeroom, was in disarray with an unmade bed. Whilst we appreciated the small carton of milk in the fridge, it was dated 12th November, already eight days out-of date when we arrived on the 20th. We realise this is an older property, but some maintenance seems to be required. Two of us accidently stepped into the hole in the boards on the back deck. A drain pipe near the entry has detached entirely from the guttering.0 people found this review to be helpful. 0 people found this review to not be helpful.
We didn't want to leave....cosy, comfortable & peaceful with everything you need for a true getaway. Rowing along the dam whilst watching the kangaroos having a drink, looking back at the kids frolicking in the grounds with mum in the background lazing on one of the numerous daybeds. Georgina....thank you, you made us feel like friends coming to over to stay. Everything we needed was there for us.0 people found this review to be helpful. 0 people found this review to not be helpful.
Great property! Generous goodies are provided on arrival! The whole place to yourself, you'll feel like a princess in the four post beds! Great for two or three couples - very spacious! Lots of dining or reclining areas, inside, outside, or on the pond in the pagoda! Dependant on the weather you could be anywhere! Fun on the lake in the tug boat - good for brushing up on your rowing skills! BBQ facilities, fully equipped kitchen - plenty of cooling and heating. HUGE double spa with built in radio and lights!! Great place to kick back and have fun with your friends. Extremely quiet and private - though you'll have to share the property with the wildlife!! Thumbs up!0 people found this review to be helpful. 0 people found this review to not be helpful.
