It is also often regarded as Australia's premier street, has several fine Victorian era buildings, is the home of prestigious boutiques and high-end retailers and was for a long time the centre of finance in Australia. Collins Street is serviced by Melbourne's famous tram network and has easy access from three nearby train stations.

Cashmore House is right in the centre of this street and lies within walking distance to Melbourne's major tourist attractions, theatres, shopping, and dining experiences. The apartment itself is surrounded by the renowned and beautiful Block Arcade. For access to the greater Melbourne area public transport is within easy walking distance with trams at your door step.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best location Our alcove doorway was the gateway to our secret city sanctuary. We enjoyed our recent stay in Cashmore, entertaining in the apartment, cruising through the many local cafes and shopping in the adjacent arcades. Views of the city were perfect. Decor and fittings were as pictured. Tram and train transport at our doorway made all adventures simple for our first trip to Melbourne without a car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cashmore on Coliins was just fabulous. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room. Lovely living room, dining area was sizeable. Tow independent travellers enjoyed the space. The price was more than comparable,wiht down town hotels, plus we had the flexibility of being able to cook, drink and relax on sofas rather then sitting around in an hotel room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great location and apartment! We loved our stay at Cashmore on Collins. Everything we needed was in the apartment including a washer/dryer and dishwasher. The location was perfect with trams, caf├ęs, shops and supermarkets on the doorstep. Yes, it was a little noisy, but you have to accept that if you stay in downtown Melbourne with trams passing by and we got used to it. Rebecca, the manager, was great. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She always replied promptly to emails and requests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely central apartment Just returned from a 4 night stay at Cashmore on a mother and daughters break.. Booking with Rebecca was smooth and friendly, with very prompt replies. Obliged us with extra towels and we were able to leave our luggage in the apartment for a few extra hours after check out which was much appreciated. Was happy to find a lift in the building, as apartment is on the 5th floor of a lovely historic art deco corner block. Apartment itself smartly furnished with quality linen and kitchen ware. Rooms are bright, main bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and loads of wardrobe space, and small 2nd bedroom with a single bed and a fold up bed (this the only downfall as we did not find it very comfortable, would be ok for a child). Both these rooms are off the living dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of glassware and cookware. Rebecca supplied tea, coffee, tissues, milk and dishwashing supplies. Some staples have also been left by previous guests. Bathroom very clean, as was the whole apartment, with separate shower and small deep bath, loo and vanity. Hairdryer supplied and some cleaning products. Air conditioning worked well, as did tv. Books, magazines, tourist info in lounge cabinet. Street noise factor did not bother us too much. loudest was the street cleaning equipment, but it is a very well situated apartment in the centre of a busy city and would presume such a lovely old building would not have the benefit of double glazed windows. Thanks for a lovely stay, and the welcome bottle of red. You are considerate and caring landlord and very easy to work with. Be more than happy to return some day. Mary

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want chic & central then look no further! Firstly thank you to Rebecca she was very patient and accommodating to my ever changing days and dates and times. Always quick to respond to any questions I had and clear instructions on how to get our key. We stayed 8 nights and a party of 3. Rebecca has a very nice chic apartment with its own unique style, there is a double bed in one room which looks out onto Elizabeth st and the single room looks onto Colins St, the lounge area faces both streets. The apartment is fully self contained which is fab if you want to eat in, dishwasher, combined washer/dryer and air con (which heated very quickly) for comfort. The only small thing is that we would have liked more towels, and perhaps a separate dryer as it became a challenge with drying time in a combined washer/dryer but not a biggy. You can see Flinders station, and Eureka Tower, Tiffany & Co the apartment is in great location trams/taxis are on your doorstep, there is a Coles and liquor outlet a block away and food places on our doorstep. Some people have said noise was an issue, we didn't think so at all compared to some places we have stayed at in central cities, heard Trams that ding ding as they pull in, the odd horse hoof trotting along. Location is fantastic and close to everything! Shops! Restaurants! Bars! Retail! everywhere, did I mention location was mint. Thank you for putting your apartment on Stayz we would defiantly stay here again with out a doubt and be telling our friends and family. Thanks Rebecca for your accommodation.
