Description

This 3 bedroom cottage offers style and character. It has been verified as the original Station Master's Cottage (Circa 1913) from the old Anderson railway station, which was located at what is now the Phillip Island roundabout. The house was relocated to its current position in 1981, following the closure of the rail line from Nyora to Wonthaggi.

Behind the picket fence lies a charming cottage steeped in history and offering stylish accommodation, while retaining much of its century old woodwork.

Fantastic position, within easy walking distance to Beach No.1, Venus Bay village and playground.

Unlike most rental properties in Venus Bay, we provide a full linen service including bathroom towels as well as tea-towels. All beds are freshly made up for your arrival, complete with doonas and cushions and electric blankets to the queens. Please bring your own beach towels.

The cottage has an open plan living area, which features original dado panelling, complemented by leather couches and decor. This adjoins the spacious light-filled kitchen/dining area. With 3 large bedrooms the first two comprise queen beds, the third has 2 single beds.

Features include fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, LCD TV, DVD, CD/iPod player, split system, electric blankets on queen beds and separate laundry with washing machine, bathroom and separate toilet. Clothesline located at north side of cottage.

Well behaved pets are welcome. The property is set on a large flat block giving pets plenty of room to run around and explore. It is fully fenced and pets are allowed inside (not on the furniture or in the bedrooms).

Head outside to an undercover deck complete with BBQ and outdoor setting. The cottage is set on a fully fenced block (650sq mtrs), which makes it perfect for families and a dog's paradise. Whether you want to spend the day on the beach or have a quiet relax on the decks, this one's for you.

Within easy walking distance to local general store/cafe & eateries, children's playground, parkland & public BBQ area as well as Beach no. 1. Plenty of fishing to be had on any of the 5 beaches. Walking/bike track riverside to Tarwin Lower where you can dine at the local historical pub and visit nearby shops or hire the tennis courts. Put the kayak in at Estate No. 2 boat ramp - Anderson's Inlet, or at Tarwin Lower - Tarwin River.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great getaway We gave this weekend away to our son and partner as a gift and they really enjoyed this getaway. while almost every need and comfort was covered, they felt the couch was a little uncomfortable for long term relaxing. They would certainly come back again and we would go there ourselves on their recommendation. The communication from the owner is excellent and apart from the couch was ideal accommodation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such an historic property! The property was really comfortable and exactly as described. We spent 3 very pleasant days in Venus Bay. I can think of only two ways that the property could be even better. Firstly, there is no wardrobe space to hang clothes and secondly, wifi would be a great addition and make the property even more attractive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended This was a wonderful place for our summer holiday. The house was really cute, well appointed and super clean. Great location - with an easy walk to the shops and the beach (if you weren't carrying anything). Loved how we could bring our cat too. It was an insanely hot week, and the air conditioner worked a treat, keeping us comfortable, while friends at a nearby place had to leave due to the week of 40 plus temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing holiday cottage. We had a fantastic holiday at The Station Masters cottage. It had everything you could possibly need and more. The property was immaculate and so well equipped. It was great that it was fully fenced and had a lovely garden, our dog loved it ! It was also close to the shops, cafes etc. of Venus Bay and of course, the amazing beaches. I would definitely recommend the cottage and hopefully we will be back again soon.
