Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely Family Holiday Ian could not have been more helpful. A lovely quiet spot to get away. I was not surprised when two of the children said "I want to live here!". They enjoyed being free to roam the property, especially the secret garden. The 'big boys' enjoyed their winery tour too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding host is the only way to describe Ian, the owner of Cumberland House. Amazing place with such amazing history all of which Ian has presented to its very best advantage. Ian is very welcoming and sensitive to the needs of his guests. The only problem was that I could not stay longer..!Well done Ian - and thank you so very much for a very memorable stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We arrived at Cumberland House on an extremely hot day and it was wonderful to be greeted by Ian with a cold drink and a cool place to sit and unwind. Ian provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne for our Wedding Anniversary and had thoughtfully made a dinner booking for us at the local Golf Club. This we really appreciated. Ian was extremly helpful with local information and directions and was prepared to provide us with anything we needed for any chosen activities. We enjoyed our home cooked country style breakfast and found the visit of Ian's peacock quite a talking point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thankyou Ian for a wonderful stay. My 7 year old is still nagging me to go and live there.Apart from the delightful house and the cosy fire - your hospitality made our stay truly unique. The kids loved getting the eggs and the tour of the goldfields by pushbike is one that won't be forgotten. Sam (the dog) also found the other Sam (the dog) the best of company. The older girls found some remarkable books and enjoyed performing plays from the gallery. Hope to see you again one day. Russell, Caroline, Renee, Jessica Emma, Grace and Sam.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I stayed at Cumberland house for three nights and had 12 friends drop in an out for the weekend. We enjoyed the house and the country setting. Being city people we travelled between Ballarat for the Photographic Biennali and the Wedding Dress Exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery. It was great getting to both these towns from this location. We loved Maryborough which is a fantastic old country town, only 20 minutes away. The Maryborough Station Antique Emporium was such a great fine, we had an excellent dinner and there were some great antiques. None of us had ever been before. We liked Cumberland House. It was a nice place in a great location. We had lunch in the garden one day and listen to the bees buzzing in the background. Lovely. Ian was also a great host.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kids and I had a very enjoyable week at Cumberland House. My children loved the bike rides. Ian was able to show us a fantastic gold-fields artifact collection at a neighbour's house which was quite amazing. Finding two nuggets in the region was also a great thrill for us. Thanks Ian. Peter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely historic house with plenty of outdoor space for the kids to explore. Our host Ian was very welcoming and cooked us a great breakfast. He spent an afternoon showing us around the local area and the kids loved riding around on the back of the mower and going for a bike ride. Ian was exceptionally generous with his time. Thank you Ian for a fantastic weekend and we can't wait to come back.
