A peaceful retreat, set on 5 acres of land adjoining Kinglake National Park. Our 4 bedroom mudbrick holiday house is located in a secluded valley just 1 km off the Melba Hwy, the Castella Country Retreat (CCR) is an easily accessible yet secluded getaway, just a little over an hours drive from Melbournes CBD. If wine tasting or site seeing is your thing, CCR is a great place to base your stay in the Yarra Valley.
Wake to the laugh of the Kookaburras and enjoy an array of birdlife which fill the stringybark gums throughout the day. Keep an eye out for wild ducks, echidnas, wombats and kangaroos who frequent our dams and paddocks. CCR is a fabulous way to enjoy the Yarra Valley and the great Australian Bush.
Local attractions include numerous wineries (some with great restaurants), great scenery, walking trails, waterfalls, cafes, quaint local towns, Healesville Sanctuary, the Yarra Glen & Healesville Race Track and the RACV Country Golf Club.
With 4 bedrooms and two living areas CCR is great for a girls weekend away, familys and groups of friends.
Families with young children will need to take care, there are two dams located on the property.

Fantastic house for families!
Lovely countryside getaway. Had an awesome weekend - 2 families with 4 kids ranging 9-12. Spacious house and the huge grounds with alpacas were great for the kids. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Perfect location to stay to explore the Yarra Valley and Kinglake National Park. We wanted to stay longer!

Enjoyable family stay
We thoroughly enjoyed out time in Castella. For our family of seven, it was great to share a couple of days together in this place. Beds comfortable and the wood heater kept us warm. A great base to explore the area - especially the Yarra Valley region. Thanks.

Real Holidays -- Enjoyed it
Spent couple of days in Castella Country Retreat with two more couples. Very Nice place to stay and relax.
The place has got all the required amenities. Near to Melba Hwy, wineries. It is a lovely place where we feel very near to the nature. All of us spent most time in the Castella Country Retreat rather than going out.
Mornings are really wonderful in summer, so do not miss.
Will plan for a longer stay next time.

What a lovely place to stay and enjoy country Victoria! We shared the house with friends (3 couples) and found we had loads of space. The house is well appointed and well taken care of. Really nice bush setting and close to Kinglake and Yarra Glen. Nice meeting Al and Paca (the Alpacas) too.
