Tourist Attractions in Albany

    Luke Pen Walk

    An easy walk along the banks of the Kalgan River. The walk is approximately 9 kms, allow 4 hours for a round trip. The Kalgan River is one of the best Nature Reserves near Albany. A special place to see many species of native flora and fauna. Take the time to make the walk it is well worth it.

    Gull Rock National Park

    Gull Rock National Park is located on the eastern coastline of Albany in the Kalgan District. Located approximately 25kms from town. Take the road to Lower King and continue out along the Nanarup Road until you come to Gull Rock Road. Turn into Gull Rock Road and enter the park via gravel roads. Great swimming and fishing beaches that look out to the islands and accross to Whale World - magic.
     

Things To Do in Albany

    Bike Path Albany

    Pristine beach right in the middle of Albany. There is a fantastic walk or cycle path extending from Emu Point to Little Grove (20 km) that takes you through the Town of Albany

    Whale world

    An excellent trip for when the weather is not so nice is Whale World. It will take up your whole day so do not go too late. On the way back if you finish earlier then visit the blow holes, the gap and the natural bridge for which Albany is famous.

    The Forts

    Albany played an important part in World War Two. Visit the forts on Mt Clarence to see some history of the first and second world wars. This is ideal for the whole family with the kids being allowed to play on the guns. There is one entry fee of just $10 for the whole family. Worth half day visit.

    Prongerups

    Located off Chester Pass Road it is about 25 km from Albany. There are fantastic scenic locations with views of the plains to the Coast or to the Stirling Ranges. There are several wineries in this location. For a great scenic drive taking in a number of wineries travel from Albany to Castle Rock (in the Prongerups) to Mt Barker, then visit Wignalls in Mt Barker Town, then to Fox River/Goundry's on the Albany Highway before travelling to some other wineries just outside of Mt Barker along the Albany Highway.

    Two Peoples Bay

    Located about 25 kilometres from Albany it is worth the drive. Shown in this picture is little beach. At the end of little beach there you can follow another track to a very seculded beach where you will probably find - well no one! Two peoples bay has a visitors centre and is worth spending a day. Especially if the weather is nice.

    Emu Point has BBQ facilities. It is a excellent swimming location for any Children. There is a great little coffee shop as well as a resturant. Worth spending a day. Great fishing in the chanel leading to Oyster Harbour.
