What to do

Fishing/Crabbing

Whether it's beach, rock, inshore of offshore fishing, Rockingham is the ideal base. With 3 boat ramps within 5 minutes of the house you can choose which one to use depending on the wind and tide. Seagate Beach Retreat has room for boat trailer and car. Blue Manna crabs are also easily caught in the shallow waters off Palm beach and Point Peron.

Kayak Marine Park

This is one of my favourite activities when we stay at Seagate Beach Retreat which is only 5 minutes away. Grab a Kayak and explore the many islands of the Shoalwater Marine Park. Rivergods takes you on an escorted tour and you get as close as you can to many forms of marine life. Even snorkel with inquisitive seals, penguins and dolphins. These islands are very close to the mainland so you don't have to be very fit to have a go at this. Not to be missed!

What to see

Penguin Island

About a 5 minute drive from Seagate Beach Retreat is Penguin Island. A ferry transports you over the 200-300 metre sand bar (which can be walked at low tide) to this nature reserve and marine park. See Penguins, Seals and all sorts of bird and marine life. A Great day out!
