Convenient renovated period cottage
We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) and Australian expats living in London, visiting Perth on holidays. We could have chosen a hotel but opted for a holiday cottage for the convenience of having more space and self catering and laundry facilities.
Good: nicely renovated, with comfortable beds (although a bit too soft for husbands preference), being woken up by kookaburras and other native birds was lovely. Nice to be in the garden and enjoy the warm balmy nights on the deck. Great to see the preservation of the old meters Stove in the kitchen. Some nice touches like cushions on the sofas and throw rug for chilly nights. Also very good air conditioners which are reverse cycle (ie: hot air as well as cold) which were new, whisper quiet and in all rooms. Good off street parking in a garage with auto roller door although parking on the street was easy as well. Good proximity to Rokeby Road, Subiaco Oval and Kings Park. Within walking distance (8 min) of the "free bus" which you can catch into Perth city from West Perth. Subiaco train stop as well as Subiaco Oval also about 8 min walk and good coffee to be picked up along the way. TV stations are all free to air channels but in Australia this still means about 20 channels. The wifi works well and was fast. Within a 2 minute walk there are two supermarkets, convenience stores, gift stores, good cafe and dry cleaner as well.
Could be better: bathroom fit out was average quality and didn't have a bath but just a shower. The shower does splash quite a way out. Washer and dryer are getting a bit old but still functional. For those unaccustomed to Austalian living, you should know you may come across some creepy crawlies (like cockroaches) and Mosquitos but hey, this is Australia and good that the house comes with obligatory bug spray! Bagot Road can get busy at times which isn't really that noisy...mostly there is a bus along this road (convenient) but the bus engine noise can be a bit loud in the morning if you are trying to sleep in.
Overall: a great 3 bedroom cottage with a lovely feel, convenient to everything and easy to deal with management for check in/out.

SUPERB RENTAL COTTAGE IN FABULOUS LOCATION
Stayed at Kookaburra Cottage for 3 weeks holiday. Overall difficult to fault. Would highly recommend. Excellent service throughout booking to leaving the property. A true gem of a place in perfect location. Would love to return next year!
