Central and quiet! The York Post Office Apartment is the perfect place for those looking for somewhere to switch off, close the door and forget about the world for awhile.
Located upstairs in the beautiful heritage-listed York Post Office building. Constructed in Toodyay stone in 1893 to the design of government architect, George Temple Poole, the building still houses one of Australia's oldest still functioning post offices on the ground floor.
You'll delight in the features of this beautifully appointed apartment that include a living room comfortably furnished with quality antique Australian furniture, slow combustion heater, ducted air conditioning, overhead fan, CD player (with MP3 input), and plenty of reading material to relax and unwind with. The living room overlooks the main street and opens onto a balcony where you can relax and enjoy a quiet drink.
The bedroom features a QS bed with luxurious latex mattress and wall mounted flat screen HD television. The bathroom is brand new and is the perfect place to luxuriate in the deep bath (big enough for two!).
The kitchen is small but well-equipped with crockery, utensils, saucepans etc and has been fitted with the very latest European appliances.
my wife and i were delighted to find the appartment was just as we had hoped .the photos give you a good idea of how charming this place is .it combines nineteenth century charm with the necessary mod cons to make your stay complete ,this is no bland holiday stay as the decor is sooh beautiful it has soul ,and it is so close to the city ,it makes the perfect getaway for recharging yourself0 people found this review to be helpful. 0 people found this review to not be helpful.
