About this property

Cottage, Pool, 300 Acres of Blue Ridge Mountains.

This is a luxurious cottage with pool about1.5 hour drive from Charlottesville on 300 acres of woods, hills, and fields in Bath County, in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Perfect for a romantic weekend or family getaway, or teleworking.

The cottage consists of a huge window-filled kitchen/dining/living area, and a bedroom. The hardwood floors are spectacular rustic oak. The kitchen area has the latest appliances and red granite countertops. The living area has a gas fireplace with HDTV and DirectTV, a queen-sized sofa bed, and two twin folding memory foam mattresses. Internet is high bandwidth fiber optic.

The bedroom has a fireplace, big-screen TV and king-size bed with memory foam mattress.

The cottage sits alone in its own valley, and has spectacular hills, meadows, and woods. It features soaring views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with over a mile of border with the beautiful George Washington National Forest.

Privacy and intimacy go along with the gorgeous landscape. You will be the only people on the property. From the entire farm, no other houses are visible, despite the stunning views of 20 miles or more. Deer, coyotes, a few bears, and eagles make their home on the farm.

Recreational Equipment: The fishing pond (stocked with catfish, bass and perch) has a paddle boat. Fishing rods available. There is a golf cart and mountain bikes. There are kayaks for use on the nearby Cow Pasture River, plus car racks. There are 2 electric bikes.

There's a pool right outside your door, via a bridge from the deck to a jumping platform. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

To give you an idea of how large 300 acres is, it would take you about an hour to walk to the back of the farm. We gladly accept pets. The farm has always had pets, and they love it there.

The bathroom has marble floors, ceramic tiles, and a jetted tub with a view of the wilderness. The two-sided deck allows you to sip your morning coffee while looking out over the valley, watching the mist roll through.

Sleeping accommodations consist of a king-sized bed in the bedroom, a queen-sized sofa-bed, and two Twin XL 6" thick folding memory foam mattresses, which you can combine to make a king sized bed.

We also have a 220V charging cord and adapter for your Tesla.

Wander the farm to your heart's delight. Swim to your hearts content. Fish in the pond. Check out a nearby river swimming hole right out of Tom Sawyer. Careen about on the mountain bikes, electric bikes, or the golf cart. Go kayaking!

Anniversary weekend away
The owner was very responsive to all of our questions and gave us some good suggestions for our Anniversary Weekend getaway. The house was lovely, clean and a perfect place for us to have a weekend away! We are already looking at booking a stay again next year!

Wonderful
This is our second and certainly not our last time at this wonderful oasis. We saw loads of wildlife and had a great expedition to the top of the mountain. The dogs had great fun exploring. This is definitely an outstanding find. We will be back!

Lovely vacation
A wonderful space. A comfortable and well equipped house on an amazing parcel of land. Lots of hiking, which my dog and I enjoyed. If you aren't up for the more vigorous hills, there is a golf cart and ebikes. While the property might seem remote, Warm Springs is about 20 miles/30 minutes away-- I enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Grist Mill Inn. Overall, a great place. I definitely plan to return.

Great experience
The property was exactly as described. The cottage was immaculately clean, private, and quiet. It was an ideal getaway. I enjoyed the excellent big pool, the golf cart, the remote feeling, and all of the house amenities. The location on the old farm was amazing, and I am looking forward to returning!

I grew up on the farm. My dad bought it from the Bright family, who homesteaded it about 150 years ago.
