Amazing Little River House
We stayed here for a week with our two dogs while I was working in Redmond. It was the perfect jumping-off spot to explore Bend and the surrounding area. A lot of things were an easy walk from the house or a very quick drive. Our dogs adored the yard, as did we, enjoying the river and the wildlife (human and otherwise) that floated by. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was a good size with great water pressure in the shower. There was a LOT of construction on the street, but having off-street parking meant it never bothered us.
If you have never been to Oregon, know that they have a bottle and can deposit, so you'll want to hold onto those and return them at a BottleDrop location instead of tossing them into the recycle bin.
A few heads up for other folks staying here:
- The backyard is NOT securely fenced, so if you have a wanderer, you'll want to tether them. They can also crawl under the deck (even our 70 pound goobers). There is a small fence, but it is not secure
- There is only a curtain for a bedroom "door", so if you are sound sensitive and have someone who will be staying up later, you'll want to wear earplugs
- There are no laundry facilities in the house, but there is a great laundromat about a 1/2 mile away where you can do your laundry and walk across the street to Sunriver Brewing or Boss Rambler for coffee/beer/food
My partner and I kept saying how we would gladly live there full time if (A) we had the money and (B) had 99% less stuff. It's so special.
