LOCATION:
The Truckee River House is a riverfront retreat on the Truckee River, a blue ribbon fishery. In addition, there are several other nice rivers and lakes nearby. The house is about 8 miles from Historic old town Truckee, close to the best Tahoe ski resorts, and many beautiful natural places including Donner Lake, Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe National Forest. The City of Reno and the Reno International Airport are just 30 minutes away.

DESCRIPTION:
The Truckee River House is a cozy river front home with beautiful sweeping views of the Truckee River and mountains. A hidden gem in a small, secluded, and serene neighborhood. Recent modern mountain renovations and furnishings mix with vintage historic finishes from the 1890's and other renovations to create a playful mix of modern and rustic mountain style. The structure and systems have all been updated and the house is fully equipped with modern conveniences, just relax and enjoy the mountains. Here you will find some of the best fishing water that the Truckee River has to offer, and it's literally right through the backyard 50 yards away - access via a dirt trail, there is a small hill, and a little bushwhacking is required. The Truckee River can be fished year round and there are several other great fisheries nearby. Fly fishing, Skiing, Paddling, Swimming, Biking, Hiking, Climbing, Adventure, Peace, Nature, and more, all right outside the door, a true nature lovers paradise!

Best VRBO ever!
Relaxing week in this beautiful home and setting. Overlooking the Truckee River and hills, it was quiet and serene. The home is cozy, modern and charming, with luxurious furniture, bedding, and a kitchen set up for cooking! Every detail is thought thru. The only thing I wish they had was a hot tub! Will definitely stay here again!

I'm an avid skier, hiker, biker, paddler, and fly fisher. I love the mountains where I enjoy these activities, nature, peace and quiet, and the great outdoors. I invite you to stay at my home, I will try and provide you with everything you need to have a great vacation!

Why they chose this property

I spotted this small secluded neighborhood while fly fishing the Truckee River many years ago, dreamt about getting one of the homes on the river, and couple years later my dream came true. It's a great location with easy access from the bay area or the Reno airport. We also have direct access to the best stretch of river, nature, and a ton of activities are right outside the door - no car required! Several world class ski resorts, Lake Tahoe, and Reno are within a 30 minute drive.

What makes this property unique

This property stands out most for it's amazing location on the river and the beautiful views. The Truckee River is literally right in the back yard, there are only a handful of vacation rentals right on the river and this is one of the best due to the quiet location, amazing views, and top notch fishing. There are really nice roads and trails right out the front door for walking, running, biking, and sometimes even cross country skiing! The newly completed Tahoe Pyramid trail runs right by the house and is great for biking, hiking, and river access. Other trails near the house go along the river and provide access to public land on the river as well as great views. Boca Reservoir is just a couple miles up the road, and is great for boating, fishing, swimming, paddling, biking, picnics, parties, etc. If you are into biking, there are lots of good options that can be accessed right from the house. Paddlers often put in at this location because of the wild and scenic float, the best rapids on the Truckee are couple miles down stream. Fishing is also great around here, this section of the river is more wild and scenic, and benefits from additional water from Boca Reservoir, Prosser Reservoir, and other feeder streams. If you like to be first or last on the river, nothing beats staying on the river!
