A lovely weekend getaway for the family
A great location and plenty of space for the family. The game room was a bonus! We are looking forward to the next stay.

DONT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE
When we arrived at the property we were so excited a couple days away from life. We couldn't help but notice all the post it notes ALL over stating we can't do this and we can't do that. Or this is broken and that was broken don't use. With Limited shower time. Was little annoying but we obliged. The first night we decided to get into the hot tub couldn't stay in for longer then 15min because there was so much bleach in it we could hardly breath. We didn't let that ruin the trip. They state no pets but the place is covered in dog hair thank god no one is allergic. We stayed the rest of the weekend without any issues. It was very nice of the owner to let us know that the cleaning people weren't coming in at check out and we could stay longer. We didn't we had to get home. The owner sends me a message before they even get to the house asking me if we broke things ( like wine glass) fishing to charge me for something... We didn't we brought all of our own things (paper products so we didn't have to wash anything). But wait the owners get to the house 3 days later and say they are charging me for the hot tub to be drained, cleaned and refilled because it was so dirty. That we didn't take a shower before we got in. How do you know? Not one of us had sunscreen on and we did rinse off before got in. Definitely had to shower when we got out because of all the bleach. Still waiting for the pictures of this so called dirty hot tub. How can this be there was so much bleach in there. There isn't a sign or a post anywhere that states you would charge if we used the hot tub. Maybe you should lock that up also and STATE its broken or add another sticky note. Stating that things are broken.. garage door, which we know works..washer/dryer you just dont want to pay the PG&E bill (you definitely make sure everyone can see the bill since its posted and laminated for everyone to see..) I would not recommend renting from these people as there are other nicer homes and honest hosts around. Its way to stressful to rent this one..We took care of your home and did everything you asked for, and all you could do was look for ways to charge me more money.

NOT A GOOD CHOICE - THE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ONE COULD RUIN YOUR STAY - ENJOY DB - JUST NOT HERE!
Please see the messages below between us and the owners - DON"T RENT FROM THEM - There are so many places to rent and much better quality and experiences - DB is awesome - this property is not. David and Mary (Penny) sent a message "Thank you for your concern about someone trying to get into our home while you stayed there. I checked with our "lower" neighbor. It was a guest at his house that got confused. A first-timer at DB. Replacing private property should not qualify for a bad review. VRBO charged your credit card- not us. Dave" NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!! Our response- "VRBO did charge my account…as your representative, please don’t try to make it sound like they somehow - through mental telepathy figured that the charge for a few stained towels was $45. You obviously reported it and expected them to charge me. I’m stating that it was a dishonest practice for you to do so without letting me know first. Secondly, the next time you do something like this to one of your “guests”, I suggest you take pictures to back up your claims. I don’t know you. You have a nice home and on the outside seem like you’re probably honest and nice people. However, I don’t know you, therefore I don’t trust you. Judging by the way you handled this, I probably shouldn’t trust you. Had it been my home and I was charging high rental costs and clearly making great retirement revenue, I would’ve at minimum had the manners to show evidence to someone if there was a problem. I would have also let them know that I was seeking reimbursement through the rental company. I will write a bad review and let prospective clients know that you’re home albeit nice is very difficult to stay in. Most of your amenities are “locked out” because of potential problems. We all know your garage door works perfectly fine, you just don’t want someone leaving it open. We also both know that your washer and dryer work just fine, (with the exception of getting stains out of towels) you’re just to cheap to pay the utility bills. Evidenced by the PG&E bill left in your book, an example of the high electrical cost of Dillon Beach. You’re little notes telling us that things are broken and don’t work is just because you don’t want to spend the money for repairing them or the usage cost. I will write a bad review and we will not stay in your property again. “FUTURE RENTERS BEWARE. BREAK-INS AND ROBBERIES ARE PREVALENT AT THIS HOME”. Again, good luck

Nice location. Less than modern infrastructure
We had a great time. Because of issues not really caused by the owners the local infrastructure (water and sewer) were dated and limited. As far as location, fantastic access to beach. House was a really fun house with jacuzzi and pool table. We would recommend this house but would caution renters about the limited water and sewer systems.

Perfect Getaway
We rented this home for Mother’s Day weekend. It fit us all perfectly and we were very comfortable. The kitchen was great to cook in after our day of clamming. We all were able to work together to make a wonderful homemade meal. We played pool and used the hot tub. It was lovely. There is only parking for one car.

About the host

We purchased our home with the intention to retire in the Dillon Beach Village. It is a home with all amenities that are needed for a casual or formal stay. We entertain often at Dillon Beach.

Why they chose this property

Dillon Beach is less windy than Bodega Bay and much less foggy than Stinson Beach or Bodega Bay combined! The traffic is minimal. Our property is 100 yards from the beach with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Point Reyes Peninsula and Tomales Bay.

What makes this property unique

The house is uniquely positioned to provide backyard sun and privacy, surrounded by a beautiful, tranquil garden. Two outdoor showers to ease the transition from a day at the beach to relaxing in the hot tub - the hot tub is not sand friendly :). Enjoy a book or meditation in upstairs nook with panoramic views...great for watching the sun set.
