Nestled between a whisper quiet private lane and a stunning bushland strip, Rosemary Cottage is the charming mountains retreat you've been waiting for. With enclosed, mature cold climate gardens to the front and established native gardens to the rear of the cottage, Rosemary Cottage is sure to delight.
Relax outside on our gorgeous swing bench with a glass of wine, watching the sun go down while the King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas put on a show at feeding time. Kids will love dishing out sunflower seed to our friendly visitors we provide this. During the autumn / winter months feel free to pile the swing bench high with our blankets and sheepskins and cosy up in front of the firepit. We'll provide everything you need for making the perfect s'mores... A tree-swing in the garden keeps the kids or parents-we've tried it entertained for hours. The garden and the bush land accessed from our garden gate provide ample fodder for children's imaginations - expect to find a couple of our kids' dens. Or maybe build your own?
The cottage itself is beautifully and simply furnished in a style reflecting the character of the mountains. The sun room has views out to the bushland and rear garden - this is a great spot to sit and read one of the books from our bookshelves or perhaps have a look at our trail maps while planning your next day's bushwalk. In the main living room you will find a good selection of dvds and boardgames. A perfect night in in front of the fire while the mountain mists roll in.
The three bedrooms are cosy, warm and tastefully decorated with all linens included. Quality Sheridan towels are also provided for use during your stay. The kitchen is small but well equipped with everything you would need to rustle up a wholesome meal after a day in the mountains. A large slow cooker means you can toss in the ingredients in the morning and come back home to a hearty meal. Complimentary T2 teas, coffee and hot chocolate.
And for those who just have to keep on top of their work emails, there is a seperate study niche with recessed above desk lighting.
A downstairs rumpus room has plenty to entertain all age groups and a sofa bed provides extra bedding if required. More board games can you get too many?, brio etc. for the young ones and ps3 and wii for teenagers. But don't worry - everything is tucked away out of sight should you opt to go console free during your break. The garage has been set up as a games room with full size table tennis, numerous outdoor games including soccer ball and pop up goals which are perfect to take onto the cleared bushland spot behind the cottage accessed from gate at bottom of garden. Guests are also welcome to use the two mountain bikes during their stay.
We think our place is in the perfect spot in the Blue Mountains. Rosemary cottage is a five minute walk to Blackheath village with its eclectic mix of shops, antique stores, art galleries and cafes. The village also has its fair share of great restaurants - recommendations on request. Village markets are held on the second Sunday of every month where you will find an abundance of amazing organic local produce. Blackheath pools are close walking distance to Rosemary Cottage as is the train station for those arriving by public transport. Start the Popes Glen trail from your front door. Evans lookout and Govetts Leap also in Blackheath. 10 minutes car ride or train ride to Katoomba where you will find Scenic World and the famous Three Sisters. Leura Village also close by with amazing shops, walks, markets and restaurants.
We cannot rave enough about Rosemary cottage and look forward to sharing our mountains home with you.
