Billy's cottage is more than 100 years old but is so loved that it has only had a handful of owners. It is the oldest cottage in this part of Katoomba and you can feel the history and see the changes that each family has made to it over its 120+ years. Nestled in it's bush setting, we hope you fall in love with this charming character filled cottage as much as we have.
The cottage has 2 large bedrooms, both with comfortable queen size beds fitted with quilted electric blankets for those colder nights. The main bedroom has a light filled sunroom off the side with a sofa that folds out into a double bed allowing for up to six people per stay. The 2 queen size beds will be freshly made for you and towels are provided. You will need to bring your own linen if you wish to use the fold-out sofa bed but there are plenty of spare blankets and pillows. The house is perfect for families, 2 couples or a small group of friends. Your small, house-trained dog is also welcome.
The living area features expansive views over the gardens and surrounding bushland. There is an abundance of DVDs, Pay TV, vinyl record player and records, lots of books and board games so curl up to the cosy fire with a glass of wine and enjoy each other's company. The large balcony also has views out to the bushland and an outdoor heater so you can enjoy breakfast in the great outdoors, even in winter.
The gardens are magical all year round. Spring and Autumn are especially beautiful with the array of colours. Your kids will love exploring the various sheds littered with items from yesteryear. The bushland out the back provides a lovely contrast. Climb into the hammock and listen to the sounds of the Aussie bush while reading your book.
The kitchen is fully equipped but please note it has no oven. You will need to use the hooded BBQ on the balcony for any roasting you want to do.
You will be amazed by the abundance of birds that make their home in the native bushland out the back. The Kookaburras are daily visitors and seem to have taken a special liking to this part of the bushland. Keep your eyes out for the wallabies that visit at the creek that runs by the bottom of the property. The beautiful Minni Ha Ha waterfall bushwalk starts at the bottom of the street. In the warmer months you can cool down underneath the waterfall - it's one of the best swimming holes in the Blue Mountains and I thoroughly recommend the walk takes about 45 mins from the front door.
The Blue Mountains National Park is at your doorstep. The Three Sisters, Scenic Railway and cosmopolitan delights of Leura and Katoomba towns are only 10 minutes away.
We hope you enjoy your stay
