Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for the Disabled Just stayed for 6 nights in Magnolia Cottage over Christmas so John could spend time with his kids and grandkids. He has a condition that affects his speech, sight, gait and balance. I specifically asked if it was partial disabled friendly. Was told there was a railing on the stairs but no handles etc in the bathroom, only a large spa bath with overhead shower. John felt he would be OK with all that so went ahead and booked. We specifically loved the fact that it was in the bush and we could take our beloved Maltese Shitzu fur babies. I have no problems at all with the surrounds and inside cabin, my disappointment was that there was no railing and to top it off it was like standing on a rocking horse when using the stairs. Not only did I loose my balance and fall onto my knee, which is still quite sore, but I was helping John up the stairs and he nearly fell backwards also. Several emails to the owner about the condition of the stairs only got them fixed the night before checkout. First response from owner was that her husband had been working on the stairs the week before and didn't believe they were as bad as I was saying. The whole time we were there, John had to go up and down the stairs on his butt (very degrading for him). We happened by chance, to meet Cheryl, one of the managers, at the local garage where she works. At no time did the managers ever "pop over to introduce themselves" as advised in our welcome email from the owner, and when I told her about the steps I was told her and her husband only get the cabins ready for guests, they don't do maintenance. She didn't seem concerned at all. Would recommend the place as a relaxing getaway so long as you don't kill yourself getting up the stairs. They definately need replacing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing retreat! My partner and I just loved our stay at Hidden Valley! The property was exactly the right combination of rustic bush cottage but also having luxurious touches such as the heater and the spa. The property managers were very friendly and helpful. We loved having the fireplace and the spa. There is no wifi or phone reception which was exactly what we wanted... to switch off for a couple of days! It was lovely being able to watch the birds in the trees and hear the creek from the porch. The only bad part was having to leave! I would definitely come here again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tranquil retreat We loved our stay at Magnolia Cottage, so peaceful all you hear are birds. The cabin is well equipped with all you could want for a few days. Thanks to Kevin for supplying firewood, the open fire at night was lovely. Take your fav DVDs to watch as there is no tv. No mobile reception but who cares. Our dog Merlin loved running in the big yard.
