CLIFFLANDS is one of the grand old houses of Leura. It was constructed in the Arts and Crafts style late Federation circa 1917 It is now fully restored with new bathrooms and new kitchen. The restoration is in keeping with the design including William Morris fabric and wallpapers. The house is situated at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac in South Leura in a large garden which was originally laid out in an informal style by Paul Sorensen. The garden runs into the Australian-bush so visitors to the garden include rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras, magpies, foxes, kangaroos and wallabies. There is one bush walk which plunges down to the valley river.
A new central heating system has been installed in the house, and this plus original open fireplaces make a stay at CLIFFLANDS warm and comfortable in a serene atmosphere. There are new posturepedic beds. Due to the antique furniture and porcelain, CLIFFLANDS is not suitable for children under fourteen years of age.
Rooms available include the Master Suite queen bed, ensuite bathroom, private sitting room, Junior Suite double bed, ensuite bathroom, Library single bed and single futon plus private bathroom, Strawberry Thief Suite double bed, ensuite bathroom, dressing room. Guests are welcome to use the formal living room, formal dining room,breakfast room, kitchen, verandas, and to explore the garden.
Guests are requested not to smoke inside the house, nor on the verandas, nor in the garden. A cleaning fee of $500 will be levied should smoking be undertaken.
No pets guide dogs excepted.
The entire house is available for periods of two weeks or more, alternatively bed and breakfast accommodation is offered for 2 nights or more.
