Nestled in bushland, the property features stunning views of sandstone cliffs, tall open forest and Back Creek, with its waterfalls and swimming holes. Onsite are extensive bushwalking tracks and picnic spots, where native birds and wildlife such as kookaburras and kangaroos can be observed in their natural environment. At night the stars light up the sky.
Named in honour of the noted natural history specimen collector and first recorded European to come to the Megalong Valley, Thomas Jones Cottage is one of 5 newly renovated 2 bedroom cottages available on our 180 acre property. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 4 1 bedroom with queen size bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. An additional single fold-out bed can be provided for $50 per night.
Perfect for a romantic getaway or family adventure, enjoy a wood fire heater and reverse-cycle air conditioning, open plan living and dining area, a self-contained kitchen complete with fridge, oven, cooktop and microwave, and a porch/deck to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding bushland.
All linen and towels are provided. Check in is after 2pm and check-out is by 11am, however we are happy to accommodate requests for a later check-out wherever possible.
Well-behaved pets are most welcome at Werriberri by prior arrangement. We only ask that they not be allowed on the furniture or bedding and not be left unsupervised in the cottage or on the property.
Megalong Valley is just a short drive from Blackheath, 20 minutes from Katoomba, and only 120 kilometres from Sydney a 2 hour drive.
Nearby are the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms, Euroka Homestead horse-riding, Hargraves Lookout, Mt. Blackheath, Dryridge Estate winery and the Six Foot Track, along with all the incredible views and destinations of the famous Blue Mountains region.
