The mature cool climate parkland like garden was built in the 1970’s by those involved in the building of the Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens. Large boulders were placed on two sides of the boundary and tonnes of beautiful black soil from the excavated driveway of the Botanical Gardens was relocated here ,levelled and planted with a wide variety of mostly exotic trees. Moss covered stones steps and extensive dry stone walls wind their way through out the garden opening into magical fairy meadows and glens where one expects to see faeries and Pan perched on a rock.
Leah, July 2016~Trafalgar Woodlands Lodge was more than we expected. The house had all the modern comforts you could ask for - a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, two huge bedrooms with comfy beds and spotless linen and lovely bathrooms to match. The potbelly fire was awesome and the host left plenty of cut firewood for days on end. Mt Tomah is beautiful, the surrounds of the garden on the property and having the Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens only 500m down the road made it even more special. We're coming back to stay for sure and would recommend to all our friends. Thanks Jeanette, a great experience 5 stars for you”
