GRANDVIEW HAUS is situated in the quaint National Trust town, Mt Victoria, in the breathtaking world heritage listed Blue Mountains, just 120km from Sydney and 1044m above sea level.
It is the most westerly township in the Blue Mountains and has a history, dating back to 1817.
GRANDVIEW HAUS is positioned on the southern edge of the escarpment of overlooking the Kanimbla Valley.
It is close to the famous botanical gardens of Mt Tomah, the village at Mt Wilson and town of Blackheath, an hour from Jenolan Caves and a short walk to the pub in the centre of town.
This spacious open planned house has three levels, all with stunning views of the Kanimbla and Hartley Valleys.
The main living level has a lounge area, library (complete with lots of holiday reading), kitchen, dining room seating 10, breakfast area, conversation pit with open fireplace and a powder room.
There is modern LED TV, DVD, Play Station with games, HiFi console with Ipod docking and a selection of DVDs and CDs. You can connect to Wi Fi anywhere in the house.
The well appointed kitchen contains a gas cook top, electrical oven, built in microwave, espresso machines, dishwasher, twin fridge and freezer.
It is well placed to do serious cooking as well casual meals. Some basic ingredients are on hand.
On the lower level, off an additional communal lounge complete with fireplace, exists three bedrooms; all with stunning views. A modern bathroom (with bath), separate laundry, a workspace with coffee and tea making facilities completes this level.
Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed and en suite toilet.
A separate bath in an alcove off the bedroom has also got views over the valley. Soak relax and enjoy the magic.
Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and a separate single bed.
Bedroom 3 has a queen size bed that can also be split into two singles on request.
Bedroom 4 loft. For children there is a space in the upper level with three single beds,one of which is a bunk with play area. It is often used by adults and we can push two of the beds together to make a queen bed. It's a bit tight in this area and might be hard for old people
There are board games, toys, blackboard, TV/DVD and Play Station. Adjacent to this area an additional work desk with office chair exists for those wanting creative pursuits.
For the very young there is a travel cot, high chair and stair barrier for toddlers.
There are four deck/verandas. Alfresco dining can take place on two of the decks and in a large covered entertaining area which doubles as a carport when not in use.
Tables can be combined or used singly. The outdoor entertaining area has a barbeque with town gas. All the equipment that one needs for outdoor cooking is provided adjacent to the barbeque.
There is plenty of flat area for childrens play and there is a vegetable garden; mainly herbs.
Please note that the house and property is located on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park wilderness and is in close proximity to bush tracks, cliffs, etc and there is a dam and pond for back up water supply in bushfire times. These are potential hazards which should be respected and children need to be supervised.
