There is probably no finer view from any holiday-house in the Blue Mountains than that from Valley Vista

Valley Vista is a beautiful, spacious, fully equipped 3 bedroom house overlooking the Kanimbla Valley. It is ideal for couples, groups, or a family, and there will be a bottle of wine waiting for you.

There is undercover and street parking.

Upstairs there is a large lounge room, a fully equipped kitchen, adjacent dining room, and a huge 4m x 6m deck.

The large lounge room is nicely decorated and furnished. It is a great place to watch the 60 inch TV, or a DVD, read one of the hundreds of books on the shelves, or just enjoy the view. Even if it is cold weather, you will be warm with the gas heater or slow-combustion stove, and in warm weather there is an overhead fan.

If your idea of a relaxing break includes gourmet cooking, then you will find all the utensils you need for the electric oven or gas cook-top. If relaxing means minimum cooking, then you will make good use of the microwave oven and the dishwasher.

There will also be some handy odds and ends to get you started, such as; coffee and tea, cooking oil, sugar, flour, cling wrap, etc.

The dining room adjoins the kitchen and has a dining suite for eight. It opens onto the deck with its outdoor furniture and barbecue.

Downstairs there are three bedrooms - two with queen beds, one with twin beds, two bathrooms, two toilets, family room with a second TV, and laundry.

The family room and the main bedroom open onto the lower 4m x 6m deck.

All the bedrooms have lovely fresh linen and your choice of blankets or duvets, and for the cooler months there are electric blankets and heaters.

There is also a child's cot and mattress, no charge, but you will need to bring linen for the cot.

The main bedroom has very nice en-suite bathroom whilst the other bedrooms share the spacious main bathroom with bath and separate shower and separate toilet. Both bathrooms have overhead heating, heated towel rails, hair dryer and selected toiletries.

We can provide a single mattress, linen and towels for a seventh person on request for a once off charge of $50

The house has lovely views over the Kanimbla Valley from the lounge room, kitchen, dining room, main bedroom, family room, and a huge deck.

Experience the magic of watching mist rising from the valley while you enjoy a morning lie-in. Have a relaxing lunch on the deck and watch the activities on the farms below, or have a peaceful dinner to a backdrop of a beautiful sunset.

From the deck you will normally see sulphur-crested cockatoos, crimson rosellas, wattle birds, and pied currawongs.

You may also see yellow-tailed black cockatoos, king parrots, bower birds and lyre birds, as well as kangaroos.

Just below Valley Vista is the Henry Lawson Walk, and nearby are Sunset Rock, Engineers Cascade, Mt Piddington, and the highest point in the mountains, One Tree Hill.

Also within an easy walk is the village of Mt Victoria with its quaint shops and cafes, the Imperial Hotel which serves pub food in its 19th century dining room, the Museum at Mt Victoria station, and the well known Mt Vic Flics.

The historical Mt York and the shops, cafes and restaurants of Blackheath are only short drives away.

Valley Vista is a great starting point for day trips to Hartley, Jenolan Caves, or Mt Wilson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! What a lovely house! Wow! What a lovely house! Such a picturesque location which provided 7 of us with a comfortable and warm base for our weekend of adventure in the mountains. We loved the big balconies, the well-appointed kitchen and the views from the rooms were breathtaking. Enough space for the kids to have their own space and we enjoyed discovering all the walking tracks close by the house. We will be back! Thank you! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended!! We stayed at Valley Vista in mid-January, and overall it exceeded expectations. We would definitely stay there again. The house is really spacious and supplied with more than your average holiday rental (we've been renting holiday houses in the Blue Mtns in summer for quite a lot of years now). Having sheets and towels supplied was a lovely bonus. (And the wine, thank you!) The kitchen was fitted out with heaps of cutlery, crockery, platters, cooking utensils, etc. The lounge area is huge, with an enormous TV - perfect for our traditional Australian Open viewing at that time of year. The view is fantastic. The decks were enormous...but, with the top deck off the living areas being uncovered, more useable on a still, sunny winter or autumn day, so we unfortunately didn't get to make use of them much at all. (We had either crazy hot days, or rain and wind!!) The keypad code for entry meant no fuss with arrivals, and multiple family member comings and goings - such a great idea. The house isn't brand new, so you can't go in expecting perfection (eg. some of the windows were hard to open and close). But for the sake of anyone weighing up whether to book, these are the only slight negatives and maybe some small areas for improvement: The main bed is super hard. My husband was ok with it, but I struggled to have a good night's sleep and didn't look forward to going to bed. (Although to be honest, it was probably better for my back - but the first night I actually considered trying out the floor because I thought the carpet might be less hard). Our adult offspring said the other beds were on the hard side, but ok (and didn't stop them having some long sleep-ins.) If I went again I would take one of those pillow top mattress protectors. Probably a very personal thing though. The BBQ wasn't clean, despite instructions left that it was the holiday tenant's responsibility to clean. So the thought of cleaning a bbq before and after put bbqs off the menu for me that week. The frypans (both electric and normal) were the non-stick type, but so scratched that I was put off using them - felt unhygienic. If I went again I'd just throw in my own electric frypan. The photos showed a pool table in the downstairs family room, but it wasn't there anymore. Our adult daughters, having been shown the Stayz link (with me pointing out the pool table) before deciding to join us for the week were a bit miffed. There was no washing line, and while there was a tumble dryer, I prefer line-drying (from an energy-use as well as personal point of view.) I bought pegs (don't know why I didn't throw in my own like I usually do) and managed to dry our clothes on the airer provided. Maybe clothes wouldn't dry outside well in winter, but in summer they certainly would. While the view was sensational from the kitchen, the windows were a bit on the dirty side (and we couldn't open them for airflow). The only lights that worked in the ensuite were the heatlamp which was a bit hard to face when the temperature during our time there was at times over 30 degrees! Overall though, it was clean, roomy, really well-fitted out, and with fabulous views. Despite those few nitpicky things (and, in the scheme of things they are nitpicky !) I'd still give it 5 stars, and (as long as we have the family or friend numbers to justify the number of rooms/cost), we'd absolutely stay there again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home away from home We had a fantastic 4 nights and 3 days at Valley Vista. Loved the fact that all linen was provided. The view was awesome especially from both decks. We saw an amazing sunset on the 3rd day. You don't need to take a book to read because with 3 bookcase stuffed full of books you will be able to find one to interest you. Valley Vista was big enough for everyone to have 'their own space'. It was clean, comfortable and had added extras that were a nice surprise. We visited during summer but with ceiling fans and pedestal fans available the heat didn't bother us. Have I mentioned the view!! There is a great bush walk just below the accommodation that leads to a little climb to Engineers Cascades, well worth the walk. We are definitely coming back to Valley Vista. A big thank you to Jean and Stuart for an awesome property. Julie and family
