Summer, autumn, winter, spring? All seasons have their own unique features making this stunning hide-away one which can be enjoyed all year round. Depending on the weather, our guests may enjoy beautiful sunrises over the distant mountains, enchanting mists swirling in from the valley or the occasional spectacular approaching storm. Clear night skies with sensationally bright stars are another feature of this amazing hideaway.

The property is situated 2.2 kms from the quaint romantic village of Wentworth Falls where there are several cafes and restaurants as well as two supermarkets, a butcher,a green grocer and chemist. Far Horizons is also only about 1.5 kms from the delightful Wentworth Falls Lake and very close to several service trails which provide the perfect environment for hours of explorative bushwalking through natural Australian bushland.

The internationally acclaimed walks around the cascading Wentworth Falls, the Valley of the Waters and Leura are a five minute car ride away, as is the famous Leura village with its many unique specialty shops. Echo Point, The Three Sisters , Katoomba and the Scenic Railway are all must-sees for first time visitors and are just a five to ten minutes car or taxi ride from your personal retreat.

Newly renovated cottage

Far Horizons cottage has recently been extensively renovated. This superb getaway boasts 3 double bedrooms, two with exquisite queen-sized beds and one with a cosy double bed. Two of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors opening on to the north-east facing terrace with unhindered views of the sweeping valleys– an unforgettable way to start to your day.

The master bathroom has a full size bath with a separate shower and compartmentalised lavatory. A second bathroom is combined with a fully contained laundry, which includes a washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board ,should you wish to refresh your clothes.

There is an expansive living and dining area with newly furbished, plush wooden floorboards and a wall of bifold doors which open on to the large sandstone terrace. With doors folded back, the outside and inside areas become one creating a spectacular space for entertaining or simply quietly relaxing in solitude on warm spring and autumn days.

The slow combustion wood fire creates a cosy atmosphere to snuggle up in on colder days and chopped firewood is available onsite.

The brand new gourmet kitchen is well appointed with state-of-the-art appliances and the island bench provides a great spot for creative meal preparation whilst taking in the expansive views. Six gas burners and electric oven in the freestanding stove, dishwasher and microwave all invite stress free meal preparation. Or, if you prefer, there are numerous quaint cafes and restaurants within five minutes from the cottage,extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. There is a also a large double lock-up garage with internal access to the house .
