Avoca Beach

Avoca Beach is a Popular holiday resort and surfing destination on the Central Coast. Located 95 km north of Sydney via the Newcastle Freeway. In recent times the Avoca Beach area has become a popular holiday retreat for the wealthy residents of Sydney's North Shore. Its wooded hills and quietness (it is on a road which goes nowhere) is seen as ideal for family holidays and outings where the emphasis is on beach activities.

Avoca Beach is a lengthy, pleasant and popular beach enclosed at either end by rocky headlands. It is considered a major surfing beach. The surf at the northern end is considered to be for the more experienced and the southern end boast a safer swimming area for children and inexperienced swimmers. There is a surf lifesaving club with multiple cafes backing onto the beach. The beach is also ideal for fishing and its length makes it great for beach walking and exercise.

Avoca Lake Just behind the beach is Avoca Lake, which is quite large and essentially in two sections, separated by the Avoca Drive bridge. A narrow arm extends south of the bridge while, on the northern side it spreads out to the west, the north and east to the beach. Bareena Island sits in the middle. North Avoca lies to the north and east of this northern section of the lake. On the eastern side of the bridge is J.F. Hazlett Park which is a pleasant spot for a picnic or barbecue

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HUGE house in the perfect location! This is a very large property located right next to the beach, lake, park and the shops. It easily accommodated a large group with more than enough room for everyone. Sandy was very helpful throughout the booking and was available to help with all questions and requests. I would highly recommend the property and look forward to coming back to visit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Location We had a good holiday at Avoca Sands, it is in a fantastic location. There were a few things that needed replacing like the BBQ and some tired appliances. The outdoor rubbish bins were also overflowing when we arrived and the downstairs bedroom was very damp. Apart from that we had a great stay and enjoyed being able to bring our beloved dogs with us. Thank you!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avoca Sands - AMAZING Our stay was perfect. The house was fantastic for such a large group, plenty of room to move around. The location is amazing with the lake across the road and the beach 100m down the street. Behind the house are all the shops you need from the bakery, cafes, alcohol store, restaurants and many more. Sandy was so easy to deal with and help organise the week away. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thanks again, Angus

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good location - a little disappointed with house Located well for a group. But ordered sheets and towels - and they weren't there. Facilities are little old and barbecue filthy. No normally expected staples - rubbish bags, toilet paper, dishwasher supplies. Not serious - but NO CONCERN at all from the owners. For the money we paid, felt we were poorly treated.
