This gorgeous home will have you feeling relaxed and happy the minute you walk through the door. You will love it.
The home features two big bedrooms, two living areas, two bathrooms, a gas kitchen and a huge entertaining deck complete with a 12 seater table and Webber gas BBQ and Webber fuel BBQ as well. Because of the design it is perfect for two couples or a family, or even two couples with young children. The rooms are at the opposite ends of the house so there is plenty of privacy, plus each room has it's own bathroom. The cottage maintains much of its original beach house charm, but with modern and new features. The deck looks out over native vegetation and a creek, very peaceful and private.
We love the fact it's a rustic beach house that is by no way perfect ,just like beach houses used to be .,with the few mod cons we all need these days of course.
There are many stand out features to this little pearl for example:
linen is included
it is pet friendly outside only
huge entertaining deck and yard
off street parking for two cars
the yard is fully fenced and huge so safe for kids and pets to play in
a kitchen full of excellent quality cookware and crockery including a 'pod' coffee machine
The large flat backyard can fit a 9m x 10m marquee and can transform the yard into a gorgeous wedding or party venue. Special approval is needed for this, please contact the owner.
Very importantly this is the best priced holiday home in all of Pearl Beach. Not only it is perfect for a large family or for two couples to share, it includes linen and basic food stuffs, toilet paper, soap, etc so you do not have to spend the week before your holiday packing and planning. You can relax the minute you arrive.
Please note, while there are beds to sleep 6 people it is only a 2 bedroom house and you might be squished if you fill all the beds. The main bedroom with the ensuite has only a queen bed but can easily fit a cot if you have a baby. The front bedroom has a custom made bunk bed with another queen bed. Above it is a single bed as well as another single trundle bed that pulls out from under the queen.
Also there have been improvements since these photos were taken. There are new designer lounges and bamboo floor boards rather than carpet. I will upgrade the photos soon.
Ducted air conditioning has recently been installed so you can enjoy cool days and nights or just enjoy the natural breezes that flow through the cottage.
There are two adult push bikes for use ,games and trampoline ,a surfboard, and a well stocked fishing tackle box with lines if your keen to lure some local fish off the beach or rocks.
If you are planning to bring your pet let me know when you enquire so we can ensure your pup will be happy at Maison des Perles.
Like most homes in Pearl Beach, this one is very close to the beach. It is only a few minutes stroll to the beach, and the entire walk is flat. The beach is literally at the end of the street without any turns so as long as the kids are street safe they will easily be able to find their way
The closest entry to the beach from Maison de Perle is the exact middle of it. To the left is the dog friendly part, to the right is the calmer, more kid friendly end of the beach. To the right is also the cafe, general store, restaurant and community pool. To the left you can walk around to the much larger surf beach Umina.
Pearl Beach village is just over an hour from Sydney's CBD. Once on the Newcastle freeway which starts at Wahroonga it is only about 20 mins to the Gosford/ Woy Woy turn off. Take that exit and follow signs to Woy Woy. If you miss them and go towards Gosford instead it's ok, some GPS systems send you that way but it is longer.
At the bottom of the hill you drive down to get to Woy Woy the road becomes flat and you see water on your left and the railway on your right. A short cut is turning right at the first right under a railway bridge. You then travel parallel to the railway line a bit longer, but it is now on your left, until the first right again Hillview St the quick left Dunban St until you join the Ocean Beach Road. This short cut saves you about 15 mins from the normal GPS directions to Pearl Beach.
Once you turn into Pearl Beach village you will find the Maison de Perles very easily. It has a sensor light too so once you arrive you will have no trouble finding your way in.
What to do in Pearl Beach
Pearl Beach is the perfect place to chill out with the family or as a couple or with friends. It is very relaxed and secluded, so you will feel a million miles away when in fact you are quite close to many attractions.
If the weather is good the beach is the best place to be. The south end is calmer and better for children while the north end is rougher but dog friendly. . There are local dolphins and kayaking is a great way to get up close and personal with themYou can hire a Kayak at the local store.
We have a new surfboard which guests are welcome to use.You can head to the south end of Umina where the waves are small and it's a good place to learn to surf. I learnt there over 50 years ago.
Bushwalking is also a great sunny day activity, and if you are keen the walk to Patonga the neighboring village is well worth it. You can have lunch over there and even catch a ferry from there to Palm Beach for a day trip. You can also catch the ferry a more regular service to Palm Beach from Ettalong which is a really fun day trip.
There is also a waterfall walk accessed towards the end of Amethist Avenue.Take some hiking boots ,but the walk is not difficult.
The neighboring Umina beach a 20 minute walk from Maison de Perles is also dog friendly at the Pearl Beach end, has waves and is patrolled. Behind it i,towards the Surf Club,s a huge array of sporting and play facilities for kids including a skate ramp, bike path, ovals and playgrounds.
On rainy days you can check out the markets in Ettalong or catch a movie at the gorgeous movie cinema in Ettalong or head to the much bigger beach villages of Terrigal and Avoca to shop and enjoy meals. There is also an outdoor cafe Hardy's Bay behind Killcare Beach is well worth a visit to check out the shops, art gallery and cafes if the weather is not beach worthy. There is yoga in the Pearl Beach hall which includes a mat and certainly promotes the relaxed holiday spirit.
