Description

Escape the maddening metropolis to the sanctuary of the Central Coast at Milton Farm.

Located an easy 90mins drive north from Sydney, Milton Farm can be found in the verdant Yarramalong Valley bordering unspoilt State Forest, and offers guests the choice of two unique accommodation experiences on the one 40-acre property:

The Cottage

Poised at the entrance to Milton Farm and appearing as though straight from a film-set is our picture-perfect retreat – The Cottage.

Resting on the site of the original historic cottage that once belonged to the earliest pioneers of the area, our two-storey Cottage is adorned throughout with charming design details and sits invitingly on a generous level lawn area making it an ideal setting for a family getaway, a celebration with friends or a romantic couples’ hideaway - regardless of the season.

Stroll along the ornately tiled verandah to the entry way and step into the amply stocked open plan kitchen/living room where guests can whip up a hearty farm-sized feast and warm themselves by the welcoming fireplace. Afterwards with a digestif in hand, decide whether to do battle with a boardgame or snuggle into a late-night movie marathon - but you best dibs your bedroom first

Capable of comfortably accommodating 6 adults or 8 people in total, guests can choose to starfish in style downstairs in the queen bedroom with its own direct access to the verandah or draw straws for top bunk supremacy in the twin-bunk room. Either choice will have you luxuriating in crisp bed linens and fresh towels with easy access to a substantial separate bathroom and toilet, also located on the ground level. Venture upstairs for tree-top views of the 150year-old farm and slip into a cheeky afternoon nap on the cloud-like queen size bed. This upper-level haven offers peaceful solitude and enjoys the benefit of a private ensuite bathroom.

Families and longer bookings will appreciate the fully equipped internal laundry and a clothesline located in the courtyard at the rear of the house. Firewood is easily replenished from the stockpile next to the adjacent rustic shed and children will be entertained for hours with use of the ground-level trampoline and half-size basketball court located at the back of Miller Barn, just a two-minute stroll away.

Meander through the gate located at the rear of the property and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Ourimbah State Forest. The Cottage is the perfect starting point for discovering the sights and sounds of the Australian bush with an invigorating nature walk right from our doorstep or, book a thrilling mountain-bike ride or horseback adventure from a nearby local operator.

Other noteworthy activities in the local area include Treetops Adventure Park, Amazement Farm & Fun Park and The Wyong Milk Factory or for a fun-filled day out a 30-minute drive will have you visiting the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby. Time your stay in September and be delighted by the annual Yarramalong Valley Spring Festival Scarecrow Competition. Celebrating creativity and community spirit, a weird and wonderful range of scarecrows dot the driveways along Yarramalong Rd en route to Miller Farm and are sure to add a sense of entertainment to your journey.

With an elegant film-star grace all her own, The Cottage will delight as the backdrop to a serene weekend away at Milton Farm.

The Cottage ‘Must Do’ List:
