Description

Warego Cottage is a cottage on our property "Stratford" which sits in the heart of O'Connell Valley surrounded by the Fish river close to Bathurst

The property carries cattle, grows lucerne, and advanced landscape trees

"Warego" was an original land grant made to James Hassall in the 1820s and has been in the family for the last 100 years.

Warego cottage is fully self contained, comfortably furnished and has complete privacy with magnificent views of the O'Connell valley towards the Fish river for which the visitor has private access of over 2kms river frontage for picnics, fishing or leisurely walks.

There are 2 bedrooms - 1 queen bed, and 2 single beds, with electric blankets, doonas and all linen supplied.

The living room has a wood heater, air conditioning and comfortable sofas to relax on. There is a digital TV, DVD, & Radio and many magazines, books & games to enjoy.

There is a fully equipped Kitchen and Bathroom with Laundry facilities,

The north facing verandah is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view or watch the setting sun.

It is 1 km to the O'Connell Hotel which offers great "Pub" meals and the O'Connell Avenue Cafe opposite which is open for delicious breakfasts and lunches from Friday to Sunday

The famous cool climate Mayfield Gardens are 20 minutes away. They are open every day and there is a very nice cafe and nursery attached

Jenolan Caves is 1 1/4 hours away via Oberon

Fishing is available on your own private stretch of the Fish river - over 2kms, and at the Oberon and nearby Chifley dams

Bathurst offers much interest - The Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, The Fossil Museum - Warren Somerfield Collection , Mt Panorama Racing Museum and many excellent restaurants and cafes.

Explore the local villages - Tarana, Rockley, Perthville, Millthorpe, Wattle Flat, Sofala where you will find interesting local pubs, cafes, wineries and galleries.

Orange is an hour away - home to many of the country's finest restaruants and cold climate wines.
