Capertee Homestead named 'Port Macquarie' is an inspiring historic building originally built in the 1920s overlooking the river in Capertee National Park, north of Lithgow.
There's plenty of space in Capertee Homestead, with charming country style accommodation for large groups or families who want to experience a unique weekend getaway.
Early mornings and dusk are a great time to spot wallabies, wombats and kangaroos. Explore the surrounding bush on a range of walks and enjoy a picnic by the river. When it’s time to cool off, take a refreshing dip or enjoy a spot of fishing.
If you want to relax, simply find a shady spot on the wrap-around verandah and enjoy some birdwatching. Gather your family and friends around in the evening and take advantage of your surroundings with a barbecue before heading inside and settling in around the slow combustion fire.
There are 4 bedrooms in the homestead and one bedroom in the adjacent studio.
Bedding configuration: 3 queen beds, 1 double bed and 1 set of single bunk beds in the homestead. The studio has 1 set of single bunk beds and 2 single beds.
Duvets and pillows are provided. Please bring your own bed linen, pillow cases and towels.
The homestead is fully furnished and has a well-equipped kitchen including dishwasher.
There are 2 bathrooms with showers.

Outside gas and wood barbecues.
Wrap-around verandah and ducted air-conditioning.
There is limited/no mobile phone service.
Check in after 4pm. Check out before 10am.
Guests must contact the care-takers prior to arrival to arrange for keys to the homestead.
A gate code to access the National Park will be emailed to guests on confirmation of bookings.

As this is a remote property please bring all your supplies with you, such as food.
Price and bookings
Rates and availability are displayed when making an enquiry. Reservations can be made for any arrival within the next 12 months.
2 night minimum stay throughout the year. Bookings must be made at least 1 week in advance.
Fees are based on 2 occupants per night. Additional fees apply for extra occupants.
All reservations incur a booking fee of 2.5 in addition to the total amount payable.
Park entry fees
There are no park entry fees.
Capertee Homestead is in the northern precinct of Capertee National Park. To get there:
Turn on to Port Macquarie Road unsealed from Glen Alice Road.
From the locked gate on the park boundary codes supplied in booking confirmation, follow road for 5km.
Upon arriving at Capertee River causeway, cross the river and take the road on the right to the cottage and homestead.
Access may be restricted during times of flooding.
Parking is available at the homestead.
