Brackens Cottage is a rustic cottage set on a grassy flat, surrounded by tall open forest with the picturesque Norfolk Island Creek nearby. Rest your weary head for a night, or make Brackens Cottage your base for a few days to explore everything that Coolah Tops has to offer.
Spend your days enjoying the nearby walking tracks, mountain bike trails and spectacular lookouts. Then at night, wind down beside the warm open fireplace. Wander outside to observe the star-speckled night sky. Grab your torch or spotlight and you might spot a greater glider drifting between the trees. Wake up to a delicious campfire brekkie and a hot cuppa. Take your time and relax at the picnic table, watching the bush come to life as you prepare for another day of adventure in the Aussie bush.
Bedding configuration: 2 bedrooms; 1 room with 1 single bunk bed and 1 single, 1 room with 2 single beds.
All beds have wire frames but no mattresses. You’ll need to bring your all your own bedding swags and mattresses and linen, towels.
Additional guests are permitted to camp around the cottage no fee.
Brackens Cottage is a rustic cottage with no kitchen facilities, so you’ll need to bring pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. It’s a good idea to bring a gas barbecue.
The cottage has a verandah, small table, open indoor fireplace and a picnic table with barbecue pit outside.
There are no shower, bathroom or laundry facilities however there is an outside toilet. Bring your own toilet paper.
No power, please bring your own gas lanterns. Generators are not permitted.
Small unfiltered rain water tank.
There is limited mobile service within the national park.
Check in after 2pm. Check out before 10am.
The cottage is not locked.
The local office is located approximately 130km from the property.

As this is a remote property please bring all your supplies with you, such as food.
Stores and petrol are available in the town of Coolah, approximately 40 minutes drive from the cottage.

Rates and availability are displayed when making an enquiry. Reservations can be made for any arrival within the next 12 months.
All reservations incur a booking fee of 2.5 in addition to the total amount payable.

There are no park entry fees.
Brackens Cottage is in the western precinct of Coolah Tops National Park. To get there:
After entering the park, continue on The Forest Road for approximately 7km
Turn right into Hildgard Road
Continue on Hildgard Road for approximately 3km
Turn left at the intersection and follow the signs to the cottage – about 1km.
Parking is available just outside the fence surrounding the cottage.
