Exquisite country accommodation in the heart of Mudgee
In 1858 a saddler by trade, James Dixon Little was operating the Australian Tannery at the rear of this site and it is believed that the present cottage was built by Little in the late 1850's as accommodation for workers at the tannery.
The cottage, though now renovated, has retained much of its natural charm. Catering for one or two couples, there is a comfortable lounge with open fire, two bedrooms with luxurious linen, comfortable beds (one queen and one double), a superbly finished bathroom with enormous claw foot bath, fabulous dining room and large well-equipped industrial stainless steel kitchen, with second fireplace, all complimenting the simple style of the early Victorian era.
Enjoy the enclosed garden with covered verandah to sit and read the papers, sip a cup of tea or coffee, before strolling down the quiet Lawson Street to the town centre, the local markets, one of the many cafes, Roths Wine Bar, or the nearby Oriental Hotel. Country living in the heart of town - the best of both worlds.
With off street parking, TV/DVD/CD
The Tannery is set up for adults however children are welcome. Note though that the bedding comprises one queen and one double bed that are unable to be split to singles. Small (non-shedding) pets are welcome with BYO bedding and the rear yard is well fenced.
