Imagine a place where the stress of city life fades away the moment you drive through the gate. A place where you swap your alarm clock for the morning calls of native birds. You swap your morning commute for nature walks. Where the only sky-scrapers you'll see are the beautiful Watagan Mountains. And, the only traffic you are likely to come across is our resident wombat, Billy. Our tranquil country cottage in Hunter Valley,1hr 45 minutes from Sydney, in the village of Congewai, one of the area's most beautiful valleys, is built high on a hill to show stunning views over the Tuscan style olive groves of a working farm.
The self contained cottage has two large bedrooms opening up to a wrap-around veranda and offers a four-post king-size bed in one bedroom and a double bed with extra day bed in the other, both rooms with en-suite bathroom and fireplace. There are hammocks for the lazy afternoon nap...but for those seeking a little more adventure, we're located only a short drive away from a variety of activities, vineyards and outstanding restaurants. The Great North Walk crosses our land and bird lovers will never want to leave. 96 spices have been sighted on our land
Experience a truly guilt-free getaway on an eco friendly self sustained farm, as every service is generated from the land. Sunshine makes all our power, drinking water from rainwater tanks and when it's cold sit in the warm glow of a fireplace burning wood from fallen trees off the land. Our cottage is built from natural materials that have excellent insulation properties. This means the need for cooling and heating at any time of the year is very minimal. But, you can still keep one foot in with the modern world beacuse your holiday will be anything but primitive with broadband internet, Foxtel, TV, DVD player and iPod docking station in each room .
For a truly stress-free escape start your day with a country style breakfast from a hamper waiting in your room on arrival. With a fridge in each room, a well equipped outdoor kitchen with a BBQ on a veranda overlooking mature olive trees, self-catering is a breeze. Some of our guests have after the friendly chat with Glen and Fiddich our Scottish Highland Cattle, or the slow stroll around the olive groves looking for Billy Wombat, or spottting our just discovered Platypus, ends up using the fishing rods on the jetty to catch fresh-water Silver Perch for a truly unique dinner experience. And....the perfect end, to the perfect day, is to be totally mesmerized by millions and millions of twinkling stars on a velvety night sky....
