Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Tranquil Honeymoon! My husband and I were looking for a quiet, picturesque honeymoon destination away from the world - and we found it ! The views are magnificent - you can watch the mist roll in over the hills and the beautiful cattle grazing in the paddock outside your window. The owners supplied us with basket of treats for breakfast [yummy cheese, fresh berries, bread, bacon, eggs and more!] and we had so much fun cooking in the outside kitchen overlooking the valley. We were very chuffed about the fireplace in our room and the wood provided had us burning a fire every night - very romantic and cozy! The property is far enough to feel remote but close enough to all the beautiful little towns and the Hunter Valley of course! We highly recommend Lonely Goats - its a beautiful, beautiful spot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peaceful place! I've celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here with my wife and two kids. Great stay and highly recommended. It's located in the small rural town so make sure you take food etc from the shops in Cessnock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish we could stay longer... The absolute tranquility and comfort we were seeking! The kids thoroughly enjoyed the Yaks and the chickens at the property. Magnificent views plus the details provided at the cottage added to the total relaxation package we were after, coupled with the great wines in the hunter valley. What else could we ask for in a short weekend get-away?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rest We stayed as a couple initially wanting to use the Cottage as a comfortable base to explore the area. But instead we found ourselves quickly gathering some supplies and spending as much time as we could soaking up the quietness and beauty of our surrounds. There was much to do, we made fresh orange juice, collected fresh eggs from the chicken coop, we snoozed on the hammocks, did our best to communicate with the beautiful bulls, strolled through the olive trees, cooked with fresh herbs, did our best to trek up the mountain nearby and keep warm and cosy with the fireplace at night. The supplies for breakfast were scrumptious and the goodies in our basket were perfect for a little picnic. The room itself was perfect. Our hosts were so lovely and made sure that everything was okay. We'll be back for sure and we can't wait to share this little gem with loved ones!
