Kalimna Cottage at Yeranda

Kalimna cottage has been welcoming guests for 20 years and some return two to three times a year. Why does this happen? Because the seclusion and privacy of Kalimna allows for total relaxation in a beautiful bush setting and an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. No mobile or TV reception - just peace and quiet. It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

Kalimna is built of rock and timber with a queen sized bedroom and open kitchen and living space. The cottage was designed to meet Australian Standards for mobility limitations so the bathroom has ample space for wheelchair movement and numerous grab rails.

The cottage is cosy in winter, being fully insulated with a very efficient slow combustion heater. It is solar powered for lighting with gas used for cooking, hot water and refrigeration. There is a small library of books and guests are welcome to bring their own to exchange with others in the collection. The cottage also has a CD player with iPod lead and a range of games to pass the time.

The veranda is a great place to sit and take in the view or watch the birds as they drink and bathe at the bird baths. A gas bbq and outdoor fireplace is provided for cooking and general relaxation. Firewood is provided, along with kindling and firelighters however we generally advise against outdoor fires over summer. Kalimna also boasts a very popular outdoor shower and a 'loo with a view'. Yeranda is a 140 acre bush property with numerous walking tracks for guests who want to explore. A small pool on Nalleeghee Creek is a great place to cool off during the warmer months.

Yeranda is 20 minutes drive from Dungog, a charming small country town. In Dungog you'll find plenty of places to dine out - four cafes and a bakery, three pubs, a bowls and RSL club, pizza parlour and a microbrewery. Dungog also has antique stores, art and craft shops, a large IGA supermarket, greengrocers and the James Theatre a beautiful old cinema. On Saturday mornings the local growers market at the CWA building is an ideal place to buy cheap, fresh locally grown produce, including sourdough and pastries from Fosterton Biodynamic Farm.

Yeranda adjoins Chichester State Forest which has some some lovely places to visit such as Jerusalem Creek Falls, around 20 minutes drive from Kalimna. If you wish to explore a little further afield, Blue Gum Loop and Rocky Crossing an hours drive away in the Barrington Tops National Park are excellent bushwalks. You'll see massive, ancient Sydney Blue Gums, giant strangler figs and waterfalls of the headwaters of the Williams River.

Please note that the rate calculator uses a very simple set rate per night. I discount for longer stays - the longer you stay the cheaper your booking will be. The calculator will underestimate or overestimate the cost of a stay for all scenarios except two adults for two nights or a single adult for three nights $370.

The rates for stays of 1-7 nights for 2019 are as follows:

Single adult guests are charged $160/$265/$370/$475/$525/$580/$630

Two adult guests are charged $210/$370/$475/$580/$685/$790/$840

One child, add $20/$40/$60/$80/$100/$120/$120

Two children, add $40/$60/$80/$100/$120/$140/$140

There is no charge for babies. When you make a booking request online, for any booking other than two adult guests for two nights or a single adult guest for three nights I will adjust the rate accordingly and you will be notified before proceeding with your booking.
