Barrington River House is framed by over 432 acres of visually stunning farmland in the Barrington River Valley, New South Wales.
Built in the early 2000’s the house is modern in style yet rests harmoniously in the beautiful rural surroundings. The House enjoys a breathtaking outlook over working farms. Sit on the verandah, listen to chattering birds and enjoy the spectacular backdrop of the magnificent Bucketts Mountain Range.
Relax around the salt water inground pool in the warmer weather or curl up in front of the slow combustion fire in winter. All year round, the House provides an exclusive escape into the heart of the countryside.
Canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding, fishing, tennis and golf are all nearby. Fifteen minutes in a car takes you to the historic Gloucester town center, with cafès, pubs, museums and parks as well as extremely friendly locals.

On site - bush walking, catch and release fishing in the dam the large dam has just been stocked with Australian bass and Silver Perch fingerlings swimming in the salt water pool, swimming in the Barrington River
Off site - within a 10 minute drive - kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, white water rafting, abseiling. Within a 30 minute drive - horse riding trails thought the Barrington Tops.
Our House is in Barrington, New South Wales, which is a comfortable 3 hours drive north of Sydney and under 1.5 hours drive from Newcastle.
Barrington River House is the ideal location for those seeking tranquility, peace and relaxation. The House is also ideally located for those who wish to explore the World Heritage listed Barrington Tops and Gloucester Tops to soak in the extreme natural beauty of the area.
Bedding configuration – the House has 3 bedrooms 2 queen beds and 2 single beds For more than 6 guests we can open an adjoining self contained suite with another queen bed and bathroom. Bathrooms - The house also has three bathrooms - one full bathroom with bath, shower recess and toilet, the second is with a toilet only and the third is an ensuite to the main bedroom with shower and toilet.

We are able now able to accommodate larger families/groups of up to 14 guests with the Old Schoolmaster's Cottage on the Barrington River which is located on the same large rural property. The Cottage and House are separate from each other and each is extremely private. To access the Cottage from the House and vice versa you need to cross Barrington East Road and walk approximately 500m.
