Relaxing & Peaceful
Overall our stay at Donnybrook was very relaxing. We were given one of the new tents & while it was very nice I expected to be in the tent pictured on their site - especially seeing I booked our stay in January (7 months earlier). The 2 new tents are better suited to 2 couples that know each other as they're close to each other with a shared kitchen, BBQ & decking area. My husband & I stayed 2 nights & we were joined by a lovely young couple on our second night, who like us, thought they were staying in the (pictured) tent. The 4 of us sat around the camp fire drinking, talking & toasting marshmallows......still a pleasant evening. On the down side......Don't expect a hot shower as the water was only luke warm, even when turned on high & the breakfast supplies were a 'little light on', especially if you have a hearty appetite.
The place its self was clean & tidy & I think it would be amazing in warmer weather.

Very lovely, but things could be improved
The place is lovely, however there are definitely things that could be improved. For one, us and the people we were staying next to in the valley view tents (the new additions) were thinking we were booking the single billabong tent at the time of booking, the owner needs to be more clear with his details. The place however was very peaceful and we had an amazing night, however I think the valley view and hill view tents are only suitable for two couples who know each other, as I know we wanted a private getaway and with another couple there it wasn't really what we were expecting. Also in winter I definitely think the rooms need a heater of some sort as it was very cold during the night. All this aside though the place is an amazing idea and i have recommended to a lot of people.

Great place to chill and centre yourself!
If you want to get away from it all this is the place. A safari style tent with a luxurious bed, you can just sit and watch the birds on the dam, listen to the trees and water and generally relax. The owners provide eggs, bacon, pancake batter and all the trimmings and you can cook up breakfast and eat on the deck at your convenience. The whole tent is set up in eco style with composting toilet, recycled floor boards and low energy lighting. We had a ball and wished we could have stayed longer than our two nights.
