Just under 2 hours from Sydney, and half an hour from the popular Hunter Valley vineyard area,Tilbatilla is found in a beautiful private valley. You will enjoy the peace and tranquility of your own fully equipped comfortable home, with space to walk, relax, and enjoy the views. Children have the space to run and play safely, and your dog will love the freedom also.
The house is fully furnished, cooled with air conditioning in summer, and heated in winter with a wonderful wood fire. The kitchen has been renovated and is ready for guests to cook up a feast. Bedrooms are comfortable, bathrooms clean and every effort will be made to help guests enjoy their stay. Perfect for small gatherings, the quiet valley setting means parties and large gatherings will need prior approval from the owners.
Pets are welcome, subject to the owner's approval, but must be controlled to make sure no disruption to the other animals or the local area occurs. The dog rules are below, and should be acknowledged in your booking request if you are bringing a dog.
Several chickens live on site to provide fresh eggs for you, in return for feeding and watering them.
A visit to the main property may be arranged. There is a large dam for a swim, or a canoe, and bush walks to enjoy the local eucalyptus woodland. Sometimes you can spot a platypus in the creek, or watch the wallabies coming down to enjoy the sweet green grass. Bird watchers will enjoy the area which has had over 60 different birds identified recently.
The valley is perfect for bike rides, long runs, horse riding or hiking. The Great North Walk crosses the valley close by, making the house a perfect stop on your journey. The Watagan National Park borders the valley and can be accessed nearby.
THINGS TO NOTE:
A minimum stay of 2 nights helps us keep the price down, but if you want to stay just one night there is a small surcharge depending on the booking details.
There is no mobile phone reception at the house, but visitors may get a signal at the main gate. Limited data is available through our Satellite internet connection, for services such as viber and messenger, and there is a landline which can be used for important calls. Excessive phone charges $15 plus will be deducted from the security deposit.
At times of extremely heavy rainfall the access roads may flood and become unpassable. In this case visitors will be unable to travel into the valley and will need to arrange another time for their visit. We will endeavour to contact you if access becomes difficult.
Dogs are not allowed on the furniture, or in the bedrooms at all.
We prefer them to sleep/stay outside on the deck there is only one kennel but understand that some dogs are unsettled and so suggest that they sleep in the laundry or living area on bedding you supply.
Scratching and or chewing of fittings etc is not to be allowed and screen doors have just been replaced so please don't allow your dogs to jump up or damage them.
The house yard is not dog proof so the dogs need to be locked onto the wrap around verandah if and when necessary. If you are out for the day please lock them on the deck rather than inside the house. They will feel quite safe there.
There are chickens, cows, calves and horses in close proximity - dogs shouldn't chase them or stress them.
Any damage or cleaning required due to pets will incur a fee to the value of the cost to rectify, plus a 25 administration fee.
