All the mod-cons in this newly renovated heritage apartment

Cohens on the Park features quality modern finishings including Miele appliances, Bose surround sound stereo system, 78cm TV, iPod dock, beautiful bathtub, blackbutt timber floors, cozy gas fireplace and a huge dining table made from one of the original warehouse doors. In the main bedroom there is an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe.

CONFIGURATION: Cohens can sleep a total of six people. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the other 2 bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed.

Though right in the city, it's a unique destination for space, peace and privacy.

Cohens on the Park is located in Newcastle's Cohen Bond Store. The warehouse has been many things, including a shipping storage area and a spice factory. The heritage character of the 1800s building has been maintained with spectacular original brick arches and timber columns and ceilings throughout the inside.

Please note there is no Wi-Fi available.

Peace and play... right on the park

Cohens on the Park directly faces the Foreshore Park, so it's great for families as there's plenty of space for the kids to play. It also makes excellent executive accommodation for adults seeking peaceful grassy surrounds and a salty breeze. There are plenty of walking and bikes trails throughout the park. If you want a longer ride or walk, try the Foreshore Promenade, which moves from Newcastle Beach, past the Ocean Baths, Nobby's Beach, out onto the Breakwater, down past all the harbour restaurants without you ever having to touch the road

On-street parking is available at an additional cost, as per the parking meter tariff's are subject to change. Please note it's a 50m walk from the street to your unit and there is a flight of stairs on the way, so Cohens is better suited to those with good mobility. The unit itself is all ground level though.

Cohens on the Park is a relaxing place to stay. While only a few minutes from the bustle of restaurants, cafes and Hunter Street Mall, you'll wake to birds tweeting in the park. It's also beautiful hearing the sound of ships in the night. Cohens is also a stroll away from Sandhills Community Garden which welcomes visitors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful Apartment without Air con or ceiling fan Attending a family wedding in Newcastle booked this unit for two days at a fair price per night. Unfortunately I failed to notice that air con or ceiling fans were not advertised with this apartment. Both days temperatures were over 40 degrees and when I queried about air con I was advised to "open the doors and catch the sea breeze. " Sorry there was no sea breeze. The window in the main bedroom had no sashes and the only way it would stay open was with a prop. We did find one pedestal fan which we used but we needed much more. My son actually went into his car at 5am and ran his air con for a while for some relief. "Modern Apartment" yes but since when has a ceiling fan or air con classified as a luxury? I assumed when I saw "modern, recently renovated" that air con was a done thing. Sorry my fault I shouldnt assume that at the price I was charged that some "modern" day appliances werent included in the unit. Will make sure I check the "extras" when booking accommodation again. Apart from feeling very tired and disappointed with the unit, it is situated in a great area. Newcastle was a lot of fun and I had an enjoyable time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Stylish apartment We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The decor is very stylish and felt like a loft apartment (but in the basement). The bathrooms were great and was good to have an ensuite as well as main bathroom. Plenty of space for 6 people. Unfortunately though the kitchen wasn't well stocked...and we had to ask for extra pans to be able to cook. The chopping knives were a bit blunt and they had not provided enough bowls or glasses for up to 6 people. Judt the little things were overlooked. They also hadnt provided hand towels in bathrooms and only one towel per person. They did, to their credit, bring round pans and hand towels once we had asked for them. One thing I'd say is they need to get wifi in the apartment..I knew when I booked there wasnt any, but for the amount of money one pays per night, it would be more value for money with wifi. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rare find We were looking for something cost-effective for a group. We found the most comfortable and interesting little hideaway at the top of the town. LOVED the architecture; enjoyed the luxury.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful location Forgot to add to my review that there was no WiFi at all in this property and so this issue has obviously got worse since Rob stayed earlier in the year. This was an issue as we had an overseas student with us that liked to keep in touch with her family in Germany each evening.
