Halfway between the beach and Newcastle Harbour, this architect-designed 3-bed apartment suits a leisure-filled family holiday or cosmopolitan getaway with friends. It has a great base for family to gather before a wedding or function, and makes excellent executive accommodation.

The luxury apartment is tucked into a character-filled heritage district within walking distance to bustling cafes, culinary surprises, sandy beaches, Newcastle Mall, essential services and the city's public transport hub (100m walk to Newcastle Railway Station and the bus depot). And from here, it's only an hour to the Hunter Valley vineyards or Port Stephens. At Cohen's on the Park, we'll gladly help you make the most of our spectacular region.

All the mod-cons in this newly renovated heritage apartment

Cohens on the Park features quality modern finishings including Miele appliances, Bose surround sound stereo system, 78cm TV, WiFi, iPod dock, beautiful bathtub, blackbutt timber floors, cozy gas fireplace and a huge dining table (made from one of the original warehouse doors). In the main bedroom there is an en-suite, and in the kitchen there is a generous walk-in pantry.

CONFIGURATION: Cohens can sleep a total of six people. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed (and ensuite), the second bedroom has a queen and the third has 2 x twin beds.

Though right in the city, it's a unique destination for space, peace and privacy.

Cohens on the Park is located in Newcastle's Cohen Bond Store. The warehouse has been many things, including a shipping storage area and a spice factory. The heritage character of the 1800s building has been maintained with spectacular original brick arches and timber columns and ceilings throughout the inside.

The unit is looked after well as the owner lives locally.

Peace and play... right on the park

Cohens on the Park directly faces the Foreshore Park, so it's great for families as there's plenty of space for the kids to play. It also makes excellent executive accommodation for adults seeking peaceful grassy surrounds and a salty breeze. There are plenty of walking and bikes trails throughout the park. If you want a longer ride or walk, try the Foreshore Promenade, which moves from Newcastle Beach, past the Ocean Baths, Nobby's Beach, out onto the Breakwater, down past all the harbour restaurants without you ever having to touch the road!

On-street parking is available and a visitor parking permit will be supplied for ONE car. Please note it's a 50m walk from the street to your unit and there is a flight of stairs on the way, so Cohens is better suited to those with good mobility. The unit itself is all ground level though.

Cohens on the Park is a relaxing place to stay. While only a few minutes from the bustle of restaurants, cafes and Hunter Street Mall, you'll wake to birds tweeting in the park. It's also beautiful hearing the sound of ships in the night. Cohens is also a stroll away from Sandhills Community Garden which welcomes visitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great space I would definitely come back to these apartments. Great architectural design space with comfortable bedding and clean linen. So local to everything walking distance. There was problems with the lighting in the ensuite flickering like a disco light (this made it very challenging as there is not a window in the room and the light had to stay off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great property, excellent location Apartment was very spacious, clean and neat and well equipped for cooking, washing and relaxing. Decor and use of natural timbers was really innovative. Location allowed easy walks to many attractions. Only downside was having to access the entrance through the park as it rained and with luggage and groceries it was really quite inconvenient. The ground outside also became waterlogged. It would be great if the option to enter the property through the Stevenson street entrance could be utilised. Our stay was, however, very enjoyable and I would consider returning to the property.
