We have just returned from a long term stay at Kevin's apartment in Cooks Hill. From the moment we enquired Kevin was extremely helpful and accommodating. It was our first time travelling to Newcastle and he provided us with all of the relevant information and local amenities, even offering to pick us up from the airport. The apartment was perfectly clean and in an excellent location. Everyone we met commented on how nice the area is. Just a short walk from the beach and restaurants, being 7 months pregnant this was perfect as I didn't even need a car. There wasn't one fault with the apartment and we were so sad to leave. We will miss waking up everyday looking at such a beautiful view whilst eating breakfast on the balcony. Such a relaxing, quiet complex with very friendly neighbours. Thank you again Kevin for your help and kindness. We hope to return next year :- Stayed March to July 2016

The property is located in a very convenient and quiet location and between a 5min to 8min level walk 450mtr to 750mtr finds you at some of the best boutique shops, award winning vibrant cafe's and restaurants and bustling trendy wine bars you will find in Newcastle located in Parry St, Cooks Hill, The Junction and Darby St, Cooks Hill. We have so many favourites here such as Parry Street Garage, The Edwards Bar in Parry St are very close, & Coco Monde, The Depot, 3 Monkeys in Darby St, so you can try somewhere different every day & evening.
A 14min walk 1.2km finds you at the beautiful Bar Beach where you can relax and unwind for a swim or surf and enjoy fish and chips or a hamburger at café Swell. There are tennis courts located next to the Bar Beach bowling club where you can also partake in bare foot bowls
A 14min level walk 1.2km to the end of Darby St takes you to the Newcastle Art Gallery and Civic Park where a variety of concerts and markets occur. Newcastle Art Gallery contains New South Wales' most substantial public art collections outside Sydney and features significant Indigenous and non-Indigenous works of art, the collection represents a comprehensive overview of Australian art from colonial times to the present day, as well as the largest collection of modern Japanese ceramics in the Southern Hemisphere with World class exhibitions frequently on show

A 19min level walk 1.6km or a 5min cab or bus ride takes you into Hunter St & Hunter st end of King St which provides a cinema on King St and an array of boutique shops, more award winning cafe's and restaurants and more vibrant hidden wine bars to discover
A 19min level walk straight down Darby St crossing over Hunter St 1.6km or a 5min cab or bus ride bus stop 50mtrs from apartment takes you into the Honeysuckle harbour front entertainment precinct Newcastle's version of Darling Harbour with more restaurants, wine bars & the Honeysuckle Hotel and Tourist information centre where bicycles can be hired for a ride along the foreshore and down to Nobbys Beach and lighthouse
Newcastle No.1 Sportsground and playing fields are only a 4min level walk 350mtr, as is Aldi supermarket for groceries with Marketown shopping centre only a 9min level walk 750mtr which has Coles and Woolworths supermarkets and a large Dan Murphy's along with many other specialty stores
This is also a perfect base to take a day trip to the famous Hunter Valley wineries and with the new Hunter expressway it is an easy 45min drive
Newcastle Airport located at Williamtown and Williamtown air base are an easy 20min drive where you can check out Fighter World and also continue on for a day trip to Beautiful Nelson Bay 45mins for whale and dolphin watching cruises within the Port Stephens Shire and Sydney is btw 1.5hr to 2.5 hr drive away straight down the M1
